An absolutely brilliant visit this afternoon to Woodbridge Tide Mill - the process has existed since at least the 3rd century BC in Egypt and there has been tidal milling here since 1077. To think that now, almost a millenia later, this is the last example of a working tidal mill in the UK - still grinding and providing flour to local business, is incredible. #history #conservation

The spectacular #SuttonHoo
treasure was unearthed #onthisday
in 1939 – one of the most significant archaeological discoveries ever made in the UK!
Discovered in the east of England, the site was probably the burial of an Anglo-Saxon king and contained meticulously crafted metalwork and jewellery. The iconic helmet is extremely rare – only four complete examples have survived from Anglo-Saxon England. Elaborately decorated, it contains a hidden motif that might not be obvious at first glance. A bird or dragon is created by the central gilding – the moustache forms the tail, the nose becomes the body and the eyebrows the wings, with the head just above 🐉🦅
You can explore the amazing 7th-century treasures of #SuttonHoo
in Room 41! #BritishMuseum #AngloSaxon #AngloSaxons #jewellery

New stockist alert! Greetings Cards and Fridge magnets of Woodbridge Tide Mill now available at the one and only @woodbridgetidemill
I’m very grateful that so many local places such as The Tide Mill continue to support independent artists! It means the world! (And incidentally well worth a visit as a working Tide Mill and Museum, plus Woodbridge is a gorgeous Market Town) #woodbridge #thetidemill #tidemill #suffolk
Milling Demonstration at 4:30 today.
Can you believe that the mill uses the power of the tide to stone ground all of our flour. Come take a look during one of our milling demonstrations. .
