When Julia Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer last September, the communal heart sink was tangible. She’s a beloved part of our culture, a legendary lady, and a vital, brilliant, and hilarious performer who has lived in our hearts for decades. She bravely revealed her condition on social media shortly after she took home a record-breaking 11th Emmy Award in 2017: “1 in 8 women get breast cancer,” she wrote. “Today I’m the one.” Then she immediately turned the focus to women who don’t have access to the same quality of care that she does by saying, “Let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.” After putting Veep’s production on hold to “kick cancer’s ass,” she’s now helping others as @Saks
