"Above all, create images that make your heart go wild - images that make you feel something." Natalie Allen
Confession time. I've been searching for the "next thing" that stokes my creative fire for awhile now. If you've been following me for any amount of time, you know that my passions lie in tall granite peaks, cold mountain streams, tall pines, quaking aspens, sugary maples & the vast icy depths in the greatest of lakes.
A far cry from the farmland of central Minnesota. I've tried to stoke the passions in the beautiful open prairies of western Minnesota where I got my start. I've tried replacing mountains with city skylines. I've substituted the greatest of lakes with lesser waters. I don't know where to go from here. Aside from an occasional creative spark, I've found very little that lasts.
It feels disingenuous to go through the motions. To keep searching for something rather than letting it come to me. It's unfair to my family to leave them every weekend or try to get them to revolve their lives around my photography. I've neglected friendships & seen some valuable relationships disappear while I've been too busy chasing light.
I don't know what the future holds for Lowlight Images after this holiday season. I've got a few vendor shows lined up & I'm going to give them my all. I have a bunch of calenders ordered for the shows and I'll have a link to order up soon.
I'm going to refocus & figure out what's next. I can tell you that whatever it is that this becomes is going to be 100% from the heart. It's going to be done my way and it's going to be very DIY. It's time to get back to my punk rock work ethic. It may be the hard way, but I'd rather do it the hard way than have it be something I'm not 100% believing in.
Anyways, I rambled. I wanted to let you all know what was going on.
Let's enjoy the rest of this year while I figure out everything else. "Where did all the fun go? Life became a business when it used to be an art..." Butch Walker

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” – Chief Seattle, Duwamish
The clouds aren’t being cooperative. Seems we’ve been rained & clouded in for weeks... that’s when you make the best of what you’re given.

In an absolutely mind-boggling article published in the Washington Post, it was revealed that the Trump Administration suddenly does believe in climate change! Unfortunately, in their view, it’s far too big of a problem to address; our fate is already sealed.
And since we’re already doomed, they might as well continue dismantling nearly half a dozen major rules aimed at reducing greenhouse gases, deregulatory moves all in an effort to save companies hundreds of millions of dollars.
No. This is not a joke. See the link in our bio for the full article.
