In the week following my buddy's death (today being the 2nd anniversary,) I was fortunate to have many friends, co-workers and family at my side. They were crucial. One thing I don't give enough credit to, though, is this hobby. I started this Predator figure that week. I was in a haze, unable to focus, and this custom demanded it. There was some stitching, working with new material (trying to get that fishnet), some painting and weathering, but most of all, it took my attention. In the end, it made a damn good figure. Didn't make me hurt any less, but it did allow me a small feeling of satisfaction, of accomplishment, at a time when I felt helpless and useless.
I post this today on a positive note. Figures have made me smile since I was 2 years old. And they made me smile when truly nothing else could. They have given me a reason to connect with great new folks, to inspire and be inspired. And for that- our hobbies, and the friends and family that tolerate, condone and encourage them- I am eternally grateful.

I don't follow modern comics very closely these days, but I'm not made of stone. You can't crossover like this and not get my money. Plus the cover art is gorgeous. Anybody read it? I own it now anyway, but is it any good? I just noticed the Batarang makes it look like Clark has a mustache. It's too soon for that joke, Bruce! Too soon!

I will do good. I will be good. And by God, I will drink. My. Water! Thanks for the follow-back brah. You are an inspiration. :)
And you other couple hundred badasses, thank you. Glad you like what I'm going, because it's the most fun I've had in ages.
