North Atlantic sword, from boat to kitchen.
Thank you for being an inspiration and visionary, it was an honor to have worked in your kitchen. Repos en paix chef.
I was in culinary school when I first read, “Kitchen Confidential”. The brilliance and real world rawness in Bourdain’s career left an impression on myself, one that not many in this industry and of this chef generation will ever forget. He taught us respect for where an ingredient comes from, through the eyes of people around the world that have cultivated them. He taught us to respect every position in the kitchen because no chef is made from culinary school, it’s through tenacity, ambition, and guidance from those who have walked before us to achieve greatness. Most importantly he has shined a light on the back door of an industry that is glamorized in the media. My thoughts and prayers are with Ariana, his family, and best friend @ericripert.
