Sweet Baby Bea. Happy two weeks on this planet. I found out I was pregnant with you while in the middle of working on the Women’s March and thought to myself that if I have a daughter I will raise her to be a strong, independent activist, to always speak her mind, to show up for loved ones, and to treat others with the respect they deserve. While some new parents save the newspaper the day their baby is born - I don’t necessarily need reminders of where the current state our world is in, particularly last week. Instead, I’ll choose to focus on the promise of that morning and the incredible future that lies ahead of you. Until then, I’ll continue to strive to make this world a better place for you. 💕💕💕
💫BEATRICE CELIA POLLACK💫
Born 10/1, 7.6 lbs, 19.5 in.
Welcome to the world our sweet, sweet Bea. This first week has been the most magical, exhausting and oh so beautiful of our lives. You thundered into this world super quickly (thank you for that) to ensure a punctual arrival on your due date. This timely trait you surely have inherited from your father.
You are named Beatrice for your maternal great-grandpa, Papa Bob Torre, your paternal great-grandmother, Bea Pollack, and your maternal great-great-grandfather, Bernard Mehler.
The name Beatrice, of both Italian and Latin origins, means "she who brings happiness,” “traveler,” and “voyager.” These are all things your dad and I wish for you, our love. To spread happiness and joy for both yourself and others and to voyage and explore this crazy, big world of ours. We are very much looking forward to sharing many travel adventures with you.
Your middle name, Celia, is for your maternal great-great-grandmother, Celia Mehler, who narrowly left Germany in 1938 with your great-grandmother Lillie and Papa Bernard to start a new life free from religious persecution. We will honor and celebrate their memory by teaching you about your Jewish heritage.
We love you and are so honored to be your parents.
Love always, momma and daddy
And big brother Francis 💕💕
Francis is still dreaming of our summer-y Labor Day weekend in Santa Barbara ☀️ 🌈 Not sure if he is ready for fall to get here or for the imminent arrival of his baby sister. But, I certainly am looking forward to letting my ribs breathe for a sec. 3 weeks and counting. 👶🏻🐶💕💫
Taking names on the bocce ball court. Also, very ready to welcome this little girl into the world. Now, time for a nap. 💕💫
Labor Day = riding on your uncle’s and dad’s shoulders 👨👨👦👦💕💫

🌈 🚙-in. A spam filled-haven, featuring the ever popular slush float drink: frozen fruit punch with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious, but now I’m ill.
Alohaaaaaaa Hawaii! I’m most excited to see my husband for one whole week straight. And the sun. ☀️ 🏊♂️
