DC's Titans season 1 review:
Wow. That felt short. Like literally. It felt like they were writing the finale and then time got called. I am not bashing, yet, but they did not really have a conclusion to the final story arc. All it teased were a terrible version of bad Batman and Superboy Connor Kent. Also, I get that it is not about Batman and we would not see Batman on Titans anytime soon, but they could have put more effort into Titans' Batman. Supergirl's random Superman in season 1 was way better done than in Titans. As for performances, other than Dick and Garth, they were pretty lackluster. I expected Teagan Croft to be playing an angsty, emo teenager, but what we got was an annoying emo screamo. It was probably not her fault, there were some episodes where she excelled. It just felt as if the writers did not really know how to write Raven before Raven. I do, however, see the appeal for Anna Diop. She performed well with what she was given. To be honest, I never really saw anything negative for her casting. I do still find the hair a bit too much. The color is fine, but maybe tie it up a little bit or something. To the Robins, Brenton Thwaites, like his other castmates, did an awesome job as Dick Grayson. I do hope he would actually pick up Nightwing for future seasons. Curran Walters provided the perfect Jason Todd. A cocky, think-he-is-all-that attitude, violent, brash punk who was caught stealing the Batmobile's tires. I do hope they replace, or at least implement, Tim Drake into the mix, probably season 2. As a final thought, they should use Young Justice's time progression for the show. I think it can be the perfect way to feature characters, such as Cassandra, Aqualad, Bunker, the Wonder Twins, and other Titan members, especially Wally West.
Overall, season 1 receives a 7.0/10.
