How to deal with negativity without feeling bad: I’ve struggled with this, to be quite honest. Walking away from negativity in the form of negative people, negative conversation, negative energy, negative self-talk, negative relationships... can be REALLY freaking hard. Hopefully I’m not the only one that feels this way... There’s something about negativity that sucks us into it without even realizing. I find that when I realize it, and want to separate myself from it it come off like I think I’m “better” than the people or environment that I’m trying to get away from. So to prevent this, we try to find the best of both worlds by not cutting ties with the negativity and simply just not engaging in it... it’s easy to feel like we can simply be AROUND negativity without being APART of it, but this is where people are mistaken. When you are surrounded by negativity, you cannot help but be consumed by it.. Walking away is always hard because you might feel like you’re abandoning those people, those relationships, those communities... but what you have to realize is that in order to grow, and thrive, and DEVELOP into the human you want to be, you need to give yourself permission to walk away from what dose not serve you. Being surrounded by negativity will actually strangle you. It will consume you. It will dictate your thoughts and actions. AND YOU DESERVE BETTER!
The funny thing is, positivity will consume you in the same way that negativity does. Surround yourself with it, and it will become your thoughts and actions. And THAT is what I want in my life.. I don’t know about you, do you, you DESERVE it!
