Currently behind the bar on a very rainy, swampy day. 🌧 Lowkey wishing I was playing in the leaves and the gold-dusted mud with my tribe 😁 sending you all some extra love and smiles today 🌸 @forwardwegrow

One day you will find that pairing soul. It will be a feeling beyond your imagination, like nothing you felt before. ❤
You just can't help it but to adore this person. You will feel your whole heart melt for them. This beautiful soul will bring joy, laughter, calmness and so much inspiration, that you will finally see hope in front of you. For once, you can actually say, I'm in love. I can see a future with this person. I can share my life with this person. Maybe this one is not a lesson. Maybe this one is what they actually call a soulmate. 🙏❤ #soulmates
Happy 4th anniversary to my world @lukailicluka

I just added his book inward to my collection, a beautiful curation of this type of provoking prose. It would make a lovely gift for a reflective friend and is on Amazon Prime if you're a last minute kind of gifter. 💗
Manifest and it will come ❤️ .
This week was so full of love ! Like and overflowing of 💫✨💕 .
I had the chance to practice along side my teacher @chelseayogapath
one day, then be her student another day, @angeliqueyoga
pouring into me during my practice, then my dear friend @swagatabhattacharjeesingh
came back to her practice ! I have missed her so much and just having her back in the room was so special❤️ getting back on the mat can be so “in your face” this practice makes us all so vulnerable, just know @shelbybrig
we all feel the same vibes at times, we just have to show up, show up and the love will come ❤️❤️❤️ #loveandalliscoming
Life and why we do Yoga: “The sea's only gifts are harsh blows and, occasionally, the chance to feel strong. I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong, to measure yourself at least once, to find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions, facing blind, deaf stone alone, with nothing to help you but your own hands and your own head”. -Primo Levi
My body has been craving backbends and lengthening poses. Long days at my computer, sitting staring for hours on end at a screen have caught up to me.
Backbends are so beneficial to your spin and shoulders. It stretches your hip flexors and helps open up your shoulders and chest area. All areas that become tense and stiff from sitting all day.
By increasing the mobility of the spine backbends help to improve posture and can help to relieve back and neck pain.
This mini shoot with @laurab_yoga
was a fun creative challenge. Dark room, no other light sources, those little candles are doing all the work!
I let my pride get the best of me. -
I over-exerted myself last night. This #yogabreakthrough
video may say otherwise (which I am happy I finally grabbed my toes in #pinchamayurasana
) but I left the gym last night with a pounding headache. What you don’t see in this video is a girl that spent an hour in the gym before this pushing herself and her body too far.
Working out for the second time that day.
Trying to prove to herself that she needs to burn off her heavy dinner, she needs get that six-pack and nice butt. All of that work to leave there feeling overworked and completely exhausted.
Still feeling that this morning.
What’s crazy is before we even left to go to the gym last night, I had a split-second thought pop into my head of “hey wouldn’t it be nice to just chill by the hot tub and relax instead?” That’s where I should’ve listened to my body. - and not my mind where it said, “No court, that’s lazy. You’re going to the gym to workout and push yourself!”
But now I’m wondering, but for what?
And for who?
Is it to please myself or am I trying SO hard to please others?
Am I forcing my body into these challenging poses right now for myself or for my Instagram followers?
I think you and I both know the answer at this point.
And it’s very plain and simple in the way I feel this morning too.
My energy is SO low.
It’s not easy to admit these things and I almost wrote a #yogainspiration
post about my breakthrough and how if you just keep practicing, you’ll get it! And yada yada yada...
While that’s true and everything gets better with consistency, it’s so much more important to listen to your body and that’s what I want my real message to be today.
Where I’m at in my journey - I’m still learning as a yoga teacher and student. But what I and everyone else choose to put out there speaks SO much more than I think we ALL realize.
I would rather choose to be HONEST about what’s really going on than fake it for another five seconds of fame.
My mental and physical health are worth so much more than that.
They DESERVE more than that.
Yes, it’s great to be the BEST YOU you can possibly be, but that honestly starts with taking care of yourself.
A lesson I’m still learning.
Day 4: Twist
I use this stretch a lot warming down after aerial training, it’s wonderful on your lower back and obliques. What I didn’t know is that in yoga it’s called “half lord of the fishes pose” 🤷♀️
Getting some study done on the job ☝️

Vamos a intentarlo otra vez. Me llamo María.
Let's try it again. My name is María. I used this Instagram some time ago, but I was overwhelmed by the amount of nonsense photos I was uploading at the time. So let's start again. In case you don't know me, I'm studying a PhD in marine conservation (nature is everything to me), but I'm also a yoga teacher. Two and a half years ago I stopped eating meat and my life changed completely. I never looked back. What you are going to find in this account I think is pretty clear: yoga and veganism, the two engines of my life :) Let's share together!
I'm looking forward for when I will be able to do the splits again! My leg is healing though, so I'm very grateful for that.
Finding calmness in the storm-
I think it’s important to remember that the work we put in today may help prepare us more efficiently when life gets stressful.
Taking the time to meditate on a consistent basis teaches the mind to find calmness. It teaches us how to direct our awareness and its tools like this that help when life doesn’t always go as planned.
Start with something simple. Stop and just breathe. Now notice your breath. Can you allow the inhales and exhales to last a bit longer? Can you slow down the breath? See if you can allow the inhales and the exhales to last at least 5 seconds long. Let that be your start. Even if it’s just for 1 minute. When the breath finds calmness so than will the mind. 🙏💚
With each and every day
I am growing
I am learning
I am loving
Insert age here: 123 ✨💫🙌🏽 give me a life so full of yoga 🧘🏽♀️❤️ “If one had contentment with simple life and leads a desire less life, they would have long, tension free and happy life”
My arms weren’t completely straight but I’m starting to believe that crane pose is actually achievable 🙏🏻
“ Quando um dervixe saúda a outro, ele não diz "Como estas?" O derviche faz uma leve reverência e logo diz: "que maravilhoso ver a Deus manifesto em teus olhos!"
Logo, o segundo dervixe poderia responder: "Ah!

One of my favorite analogies for savasana is to imagine a snow globe. I once heard @brentasana
say this and it has stuck with me ever since.
We all can picture a snow globe and we all know what it does. We pick it up, shake it and watch a snow storm within it. When we place it back down on a surface the snow slowly settles back onto the ground.
Now imagine this is how the practice works. It’s as if throughout the practice we pick up that snowglobe and stir up a lot of energy. Savasana is that moment we place that snowglobe down and we allow all that energy we just stirred up the chance to settle back into us. We do this with a faith of knowing that is knows exactly where it needs to go.
The next time you’re in savasana imagine the snow globe and imagine all that energy you just stirred up to magically take its place right inside you.
This is the transformational nectar!! I remember reading a line in a book that said something like: be the parent you never had/be the partner you never had. 🤯 do it for yourself and see everything else completely change in response to that! 🙏🏼 #lightinsideyoga
Oh no, honey, I'm an angel, I swear. The horns are only there to hold up the halo..
