“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
-Dr. MLK, Jr.
Being the light means completely stepping away from the dark, knowing that the dark is capable of disguising itself as light. Being love means to completely remove hate, knowing that it WILL disguise itself as love. Think light + love, speak light + love, BE light + love, my friends! ✨💛 My teaching schedule for the week:

Natarajasana, or Lord of the Dance pose, is a pose symbolic of both transformation and of maintaining internal bliss amidst chaos.
The pose is named after Nataraja, one of Shiva’s many forms. Shiva is one of the most prominent deities in the Hindu tradition, and is considered the overseer of destruction (or transformation, depending on how you see it).
Nataraja is depicted dancing in a ring of flames—which represent samsara, or the constant cycle of change—birth, death, and rebirth. He is steady, calm, and fearless. All of which are necessary for the pose, Natarajasana.

“The body takes a shape because we suggest it to do so.
When we enter the landscape of our open heart,
We yearn for a gesture that may express what is discovered.
Or perhaps, we yearn to enter the landscape of a heart that has yet to open.
We ask the body to shift its shape and show the way.
And because of the profundity of it’s purpose, no backbend is created equal nor can one ever be re-created….
…for a backbend ~like a sunset~
is the articulation of something bigger…
A Backbend Communicates The Inarticulate Speech of your Heart.” ~ Michelle Dawson #backbend #myyogalife #followyourheart

Something cool & inspirational.
Sun makes us together and bring things alive. Sun is always within yourself. I surrender.
Life may try to knock you down but be persistent with your passions - cultivate grit, resilience, tenacity and endurance success will come.🙏🏻
🌑 Have you seen the full moon / super moon / lunar eclipse today? A full moon for me is a time to reflect, release and connect to my senses. So I’ll do some journalling, listen to soothing music and flow with the rhythm. It reminds me that rhythm is essential to life. It connects everything. The earth circles around the sun in a stately rhythm creating night and day. The moon causes the tide to rise and fall. And all living beings resonate with this tempo set by nature. Attuning your body, breath, and mind to the unforced rhythms of the natural world is healing. Feel its nurturing forces within you. (See my story for the full playlist). Happy full moon! 🌕 #fullmoon #lunareclipse #yogaplaylist

How much emphasis do you put on recovery?
Me, I take that sh!t hella seriously. Maybe it’s because I’ve had a severe injury before. Maybe because my job revolves around movement. Or maybe because 40 🙈.
Regardless, I do all the things to try to keep my body healthy. I honestly will try almost anything if it works. If someone told me they were gonna sprinkle pixie dust on me and that shit made my body function better, you best believe I would be like Sprinkle Me, mane.
No, but for reals.
I do the yoga, stretching, myofascial release, etc...as well as a combo of chiro [@thesourcechiro

float/sauna/et al [@rebootspa
I dunno which is my favorite because I love them all. What do you do to take care of your body?
Today, as we celebrate the great Martin Luther King, Jr., let us remember to always, always choose love. 💙 #MLKDay #MotivationMonday
Getting handsy 😉: I was having a chat with D and other TT graduates on exploring foundation in poses especially the hands .We sent these videos to show that of what we are exploring. It is very encouraging to engage and share ideas. Thanks guys . Stay curious. .
Hand placement .
Having the proper placement and understanding of how to manipulate the surface area of the hands can significantly reduce the incidence of wrist injuries in your Yoga practice.
The way you use and position your hands while bearing weight on them makes a difference.
The fingers can be used has fine tuners for balance but not as an over gripping so they can respond and react.
The pinky packet of muscle is a much more natural connection into the shoulder blade.
The over gripping can weaken that connection. but it is a dynamic balance between gripping and softening constantly adjusting. @devonoftheocean
Can’t believe this is me! My tightest wheel ever. I was so tired after coming out of this wheel tho 😅 Swipe for my first yoga selfie, me in wheel. I was about 4 months into my yoga journey then & I remembered I always lost a bunch of hair to the mat pushing up to wheel as it was a tug of war getting my shoulders & head off the mat. I know I sounded a lot like a broken record... but when I first started yoga, I couldn’t even push up to wheel. From ground zero to this, I’m happy & grateful.
I find that the older I'm getting the more flexible I'm getting, thanks yoga. 🙏🏼 📷: @photosbybroz
