Movement is healing. When we move, we cleanse. In yoga, the poses are designed to move energy in your body. It helps us release stagnant and oftentimes negative energy that we may have absorbed.
When we don’t cleanse our energy, we become cloudy, tight, and out of balance. Energy is contagious and so it’s important to constantly cleanse your energy, not just of yourself but your surroundings too. In today’s blog post on my website (link in bio) I discuss some ways to cleanse energy.
A huge factor in cleansing is your intention. Why do you need the cleanse? What would you like to invite after you’ve cleared and cleansed?
There’s more insight in my website blog post, but I cannot encourage you enough to protect your energy through cleansing, with whichever method speaks to your soul💛
Flowing in my perfect traveling yoga mat by @tunodsfitness
Tyger Tyger, burning bright … .
As a plus size woman I am told not to take up space. To make myself smaller. But in #yoga
, taking up space is exactly what is important. You see, yoga is for everyone … yoga is for everybody. So many times people have come to me and said, I can’t do yoga, I’m too fat. But everyone can do yoga. Every body is a yoga body! .
So lets take up space … after all, its there for the taking!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF⠀
Sometimes I have to remind myself: Don't let fear or insecurity stop you from trying new things. Believe in yourself. Do what you love. ⠀
Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for realizing that we can push to be better and do better not only for ourselves but those around us. www.weriseyoga.com
Today is Day 1 of #weyogistogether
and today we are sharing our favorite pose! Recently I have been feelin the one legged downward - facing dog. It used to frustrate me so much and I struggled with keeping my hips square. However, I have grown to love the way this pose makes me feel! It challenges my balance, alignment, and core strength. It also feels super yummy in my hamstrings
Hi 👋 my name is Alicia. I have a super amazing husband @lungs
and an adorable 10 month old, Clyde. My goal for 2019 is to do yoga everyday that feels good! I also hope that practicing in front of my son will get him on the yoga mat with me in the near future (he just started crawling 😍) ... who doesn’t want to wear matching yoga pants with their mini me 😂❤️👯♀️
Thank you hosts! These yoga challenges make me feel apart of the #igyogacommunity
and are incredibly motivating! ❤️
Thank you so much sponsors 🙏
My body is craving heat, the wet moist air from the ocean and the sound of wild animals in the jungle 🐒 🏝 🌊

Monday... nothing a bit of yoga can’t fix!
Forearm balance is easy (said no one ever)
Block in first photo takes away the requisite pronation of the elbow. That action really limits my ability to do the pose in good alignment. So I keep the palms facing in and squeeze the block
Then if you scroll left you’ll see ways of mobilizing and strengthening the elbow to improve my capacity in this area. So that one day I can do this pose well with the palms facing down
Sometimes we need to train outside the posture, and re-approach it once we have opened/strengthened/learned a certain action or skill. Besides the importance of being patient and being humble, if you really want to do the pose well, it’s probably a more efficient approach anyway
Learn or do once a week smth new, better once a day, so your mind stays flexile and lissom. All begins in your mind.
“I am only describing language,
not explaining anything”
When my wife and I saw this we both laughed hysterically.
Nighttime with a 3 year old that wakes up at 6am bright eyed and a new born that sleeps during the day and struggles with gas at night has left us looking like road kill.
I know it’s a phase and one that we are both happy to go through but it’s fascinating to observe how lack of sleep and extreme fatigue effects my mental and physical processes.
What has become increasing clear is how emotional states evoke reactions that add fuel to that emotional state creating a cycle that feeds itself. My perception of the situation elicits reactions that are often not in my best interest. Instead of looking at the cycle and inquiring into other possibilities I seek distraction from it; Instead of communicating with others I seek isolation; Instead of seeking something to recharge and rebalance me I seek temporary coping mechanisms only to feel worse about not handling my obligations.
When’s the last time you felt truly recharged? Often we’re just riding these cycles finding some temporary relief only to get right back on rollover coaster yielding the same undesirable result.
If you’re looking the opportunity for a complete recharge you should consider joining us for Retreat on the Greek Island Amorgos April 22-29. No cooking, washing dishes, making your bed for 7 days and nights. We’ll practice yoga that will make your body strong and rebalance your nervous system. And the Greeks really know how to live! The dinners at night last for hours filled with great conversation and laughter. Your room will over look the Aegean Sea and the staff at the @aegialis_hotel_spa
is so warm and welcoming. For more information send me a message. We’d love for you join us.
standing balances aren’t my thing but getting closer to king dancers pose natarajasana! 🌟
By following the movement with your breath, you will come on ease within the practice. You will feel you're flying between one pose and another. Bringing focus on the bandhas as well as on the breath, will automatically change the way you see the practice. Moving from a merely physical exercise, to a much deeper type of practice. #eightanglepose #astavakrasana #bandhas #menatyoga
