Confession time…I haven’t been feeling overly energetic lately. Summer was busy, fall gets insane, and it’s all added up. I’m tired, and I feel like I’m going through the motions.
I told a friend that the other day, and she told me: “at least your motions are good”. 🍂
And it really made me realize - my routine has become such second nature that even when I’m this tired, I’m still going through MY motions. The motions that keep me healthy and keep me pushing towards my goals.
Im still trying my best, even if it doesn’t have as much pep as normal. I’m still working hard, and there’s not a whole lot to think about. I just do it.
Figure out routines that work for you, so when life gets busy and there’s too much to think about, too much to decide on, you can just go through YOUR motions that help keep you a happy and healthy person.
Here's the thing about balance.
Everyone's experience with it is so...unique.
What you can tolerate, the next person is burnt out from. So trying to model your version of balance after someone who seemingly "has their shit together" is definitely not the way to go. By doing this you run into two (both disheartening) situations.
Either you (a) under-challenge yourself and therefore leave potential untapped or (b) cannot possibly keep up with what you perceive as being "manageable" and feel like a failure
In either scenario you need to do some self-reflection and internal discovery work to figure out what works for YOU. How many hours a day can you work and still feel passionate and excited about work the next day, and the day after that? How much self-care do you need to stay grounded, positive and happy? How much alone time do you need to feed your self-love cup? How much social time do you need to feel connected?
The only way to get to the bottom of those questions is to trial and error it babygirl.
If one week you're feeling super overwhelmed - assess and correct. If the next week you're feeling uninspired and disconnected - assess and correct. Stay present, acknowledge how you're REALLY feeling (not how you SHOULD be feeling) and honor that. Make necessary adjustments, document what feels good, and start setting boundaries around those things. You want to do more of THAT.
Seems pretty simple, huh? Well...it is. But here's the dealio - we all just suffer in silence because that's what our culture tells us to do, when really we could be getting a whole lot more done with a whole lot less stress if we just tapped into our own unique you-ness and honored that from the start.

There is a constant battle between progress and contentment, a battle between comfort and growth. And it goes far beyond what you can achieve with training and nutrition.
Growth only comes through struggle, through stress and discomfort, and expanding your boundaries.
Being comfortable with who you are must be a dynamic, evolving state & comfort is about accepting more from life, but not demanding more to be happy.
That means as you accept the boundaries of what you can do right now, you also learn to expand them.
Ex. You have social anxiety and are uncomfortable meeting new people. Either you can never meet anyone, or you make an effort to expose yourself more and face the discomfort.
And to continue growing you must know what enough means to you: enough money, enough free time, enough friends…Don’t try to achieve perfection.
When you play chess you must know when to exchange and sacrifice pieces, to give them up temporarily for a stronger position.
That applies to your life too.
Maintaining a physique, a business, or a relationship still requires effort. Maybe not as much effort as it took to build, but you must work to stay where you are or to keep getting better.

Life Lesson 1️⃣0️⃣1️⃣ - Do Yourself a Favour & Do Your Own Research Every Once In Awhile 💁🏻♀️
Don’t get me wrong, we all have our own profession and usually we know how to do the job better than someone else which is why the 🌎 continues to go round. .
HOWEVER ‼️ Too many people start to believe whatever they hear without doing their own additional research
Generally speaking.. when someone holding a specific tittle tells you something, why do we all of a sudden believe it? Do you ever take the time to ask what certifications they have or better yet, do your own research on the “type” of certifications they hold?! 🤔 Do you ever ask when the last time they opened a book and decided to educate themselves on the newest research the current studies have to offer? .
Most would say no. Just because someone went to school for 4+ years 20-30 years ago doesn’t define anything ❗️
All the information we need can be done through our own studies 🤓 however, no one wants to take that route due to time “wasted” and just pure laziness. This in turn can lead to potential false information coming from someone you THINK knows everything and an empty bank account to top it off. .
Do yourself a favour and do your own research, you’d be amazed as to what you can find and the knowledge you obtain. Just because someone holds some sort of title doesn’t mean 💩. .
Don’t always believe the information you receive, you’ll start to believe it even if it’s wrong or right.

Do you work in an office? At a desk? All day? If you are anything like me, you sit down at your computer and before you know it, hours have gone by. You haven't taken a sip of water. You missed lunch. And you haven't moved! Thankfully I don't have to spend much time at a desk. But for those that do, office jobs wreak havoc on our bodies! We sit with poor body mechanics causing tightness in our hips, our chest and our upper back. The office lighting does nothing for our mental state and our ability to concentrate. We feel fatigued, and physically we haven't done anything.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So...how can we beat that?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Set a timer! For every hour of productive office work, allow yourself to get up and either walk around the office, or stretch out your shoulders, your chest, your back and your wrists.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. If you aren't set up with an ergonomic work station, inquire about it! Game changer! Also, a workstation that can allow you to also stand while working is a nice change.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Don't work through lunch if you can avoid it. Get outside, away from the fluorescent lighting. Go for a walk in the fresh air. I know winter is coming, but bundle up. It will refresh you more than you realize.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Need to talk to a colleague? If you can, walk to them as opposed to call. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Obviously, take the stairs as opposed to the elevator if you can. Park further away from your door.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most of these are all things you've heard before. But in a technology filled world, where we are sitting more than anything, it's worth the reminder.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I popped the broccoli in the microwave - it was pre cut up and steamed in the bag - the green beans and shrooms I steamed in a man for 3 minutes... how much easier can it get? Put a lil butter or oil & a bit of seasoning & you have a healthy side just like that!
