47 days till December 1st... you feelin the burn yet?!
Now that it’s the offseason for the Yankees, they have lots of decisions to make. First up they will have to decide who they will bring back next season.
The Yankees made a trade with the Giants to acquire Andrew McCutchen just before the August 31st trade deadline. McCutchen did a very nice job filling in for Aaron Judge until he returned to the lineup. After Judge returned, McCutchen became the Yankees every day left fielder. Brett Gardner was benched after he really struggled offensively. McCutchen was very good at making pitchers work, getting their pitch count up, drawing walks, and setting up RBI opportunities for the hitters behind him. He didn’t always care if he got a hit, he would be just as happy with a walk. If the Yankees do move on from Brett Gardner this offseason, McCutchen could be back in pinstripes next season.
