Today, we got the prop greased up and replaced all the O rings, replaced the zinc plate on the hull, and put on the final coat of copper paint - we still need to replace the scuppers and the screens on the thru-holes then we are ready to splash! T minus 40 hours!
The inside of the boat is a complete disaster area. It’s filthy and totally destroyed from the workers getting on and off and all of the work that was done - we estimate it’s going to take a week just to clean and put the inside back together again and then another several days to a week to put up all the canvas, sails and halyards.
For those of you wondering whether to leave your boat in the water or take it out, I think our answer is going to be to leave it in the water in the future whenever we can!
And, we’re back!
The start of sailing season 2019 will commence shortly! Stay tuned for our first blog post of 2019 when we splash Lodos back in the Sea of Cortez. We’re beyond excited to be back near the sea - can’t wait to see our whale and dolphin friends soon. 🐳 🐬❤️⛵️
