Great to be back attempting to the hit a workout where my fitness journey from home all started. It will always be my go to when I want to strip fat.
Back when I first started this workout 5 years ago my 10k time was always around the 44-45 minute mark. Max interval training got me down to sub 40. I always go back to this when I need to build up more power in my legs and make my cardiovascular fitness more efficient.
The beauty of max interval training is your max is YOUR max, therefore as long as you are doing the best that you can do then you will see and feel great results.
A public holiday is no excuse! Each morning I row for 30 minutes on the rowing machine. Sometimes I push hard, sometimes I chill. .
This morning I focused on achieving a consistent s/m (strokes per minute, similar to cadence) and a split (the time it takes to cover 500m)
In exercise (and perhaps I life) I can be inconsistent with intensity and performance. Maybe that’s why I was good at obstacle racing and HIIT training, constantly stopping and starting.
This morning I achieved the result I wanted, a consistent s/m AND split. I had to concentrate so much! .
I’ve been training on the rowing machine for over 3 years and have never achieved these results.
I’m not sure why it’s so important but I’m seeing a hidden message here..... maybe I can take this consistency into real life??? 🤔🤔🤔

Could have highlighted the redeeming parts of today's session, but instead I wanted to be transparent and share the struggles. In theory, coming back from a vacation from work and a lighter training week last week, I should be fresh and ready for heavy weights. But for some reason it didn't happen like that. I could sit here and beat myself up over why my squats were so bad today (failed the third rep of triples 3 sets in a row, dropping weight each time), but instead I'm choosing to focus harder, stay positive and push for a better training day tomorrow. Frustrating days happen. It's all part of the journey. #thestruggleisreal #theweekisntoveryet
