I realized I have been sharing on this account for over 5 months now, and I have never really give a proper introduction. So, here’s a little bit about me:
∙🙋🏼♀️ I’m Kara. I live in New Jersey, about 25 miles outside of NYC. ∙I live in the town I grew up in, with my husband, Evan, and son, Connor (somehow I convinced my Long Island raised husband to become a Jersey transplant).
∙Ev and I lived in the city for years (me: ~5.5; Ev: ~8.5) before we moved back to the ‘burbs when I was pregnant with Con a little over 2 years ago.
∙Ev and I met at work. He actually was part of my interview process before I started! We still both work for the same parent company, but I have since moved to a different operating company.
∙I work full time (#momguilt
), but am lucky to have the flexibility to work from home frequently (cutting out the commute means less time away from the little man!).
∙Being a mom is my jam-I love it so much. I have dreams of having a big family. Unfortunately, we recently suffered a 2nd trimester loss (found out at about 15 and 1/2 weeks). While this terrifies me for the future, I am still hopeful that, God willing, we can have at least 1-2 more healthy children.🙏
∙I went to college at Penn State and will forever be cheering for our Nittany Lions.🏈(WE ARE!)
∙I stopped eating meat when I was 7. I then became vegan my senior year of college. While I absolutely believe there are huge health and environmental benefits to a plant based diet, my initial reasoning for becoming vegan was my complete disagreement with the cruelty of the meat/dairy industry.
∙I have struggled with/obsessed over my weight for years. I am doing my best to live a more balanced lifestyle and not be so focused on the number on the scale...it’s a work in progress.
∙I love wine, carbs, 90s/early 2000s music, and Law and Order SVU.
∙I’m patiently waiting for an emoji with light brown hair to be released, but until then 🤷🏼♀️.
∙I started this account so that I could do a bit of oversharing😂 and as a reminder to myself and others to enjoy the little things, focus on happiness, and live in the moment. Time moves way too fast. The rest (laundry, cleaning, emails, etc.) can wait.
