Last week in my pewter studio @manchestercraft
I hosted two lovely Manchester visitors learning how to handcraft their own bee keyrings using the age old metalwork technique of cuttlefish casting. .
Riffing off the Manchester bee motif Carys and Eric came up with these super cool geometric bee and more wasp like designs. We then set to work mould making, pouring the pewter, sawing, filing and polishing with a little break for yummy vegan cakes from @oakstreetcafenq.
I also learnt that the bees at Bristol zoo have a hive half inside and half outside so they can roam around the city before returning to do their bee thang. How cool is that!?
I think I see a road trip to #bristol
on the horizon 🐝
This was my last pewtersmithing @airbnbexperiences
