They said, travel so you'll find that grand happiness you long for. I traveled, but I did not find happiness. What I found is me, empty.
I walked further and met people. Maybe, they are empty too? I sat down and spoke to them, built connection. My emptiness to your emptiness. I shared my sorrow to every traveler who has the same feeling.
Slowly, I appreciated little things. Nature, laughter, a mere 6-hour bus ride. It opened my eyes to possibilities. It made me understand that I will never have that grand happiness. Thus, I will have small things around me that can make me smile.
A rock that I can sit on when I am tired. The shade from the tree where I can take a deep breath. Small spaces where I can break down and cry.
When you start appreciating things no matter how big or small, it makes you happy.
Life is a long road with few bumps and turns. But, look.. it made you stronger, kinder and wiser. -D.Mercine
