77 years ago today Wonder Woman was introduced to the world.
It's hard for me to put into words how much Diana of Themyscira means to me. She is my inspiration and guide. She represents a vehement adherence to truth, justice and equality. A love and appreciation of femininity in all its forms. Unapologetic love. Devotion to ideals and not flags.
The first time I put on a Wonder Woman costume I had made (it was atrocious, poorly sewn spandex and flaking foam armor) I nearly cried. I stood in front of the mirror and felt so powerful. That's why we make these costumes though, because amongst the silly fun and photoshoots and running around conventions you feel just a little closer to being that fictional ideal and that in itself is a powerful feeling.
This photo was taken by my incredible sister in law @shewolffilms at a shoot where she absolutely made my dreams come true.
Costume, in its entirety was made by me.
