Last week: I drove 3,000 miles from WA to VA then packed all my belongings into a small storage unit.
This week: I’m helping the Haywards move from into their new home.
Next week: We’re moving Samantha from ODU into the new house as well.
With all this moving, a ton of Tetris references have been made. So far, this Wednesday Addams quote is by far the best by far.
It's important for children and our society to learn about and acknowledge the leaders in our country who represent diversity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While it's a lot more common to see male leaders in the U.S. Armed Forces nowadays, they were rare not too many years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For Black History Month I'd like to introduce a few people you probably might not have heard of. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
U.S. Marine, Gen. Petersen served for 38 years all the while experiencing racial slurs, discrimination and was even arrested in the 1950s on a military officer's club on the assumption that he was impersonating a lieutenant (because black officers were extremely rare at the time). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Having enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1950 and aced the Navy's entrance exam, he was told he'd make a "great steward."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, in1951, Petersen entered the Naval Aviation Cadet Program and completed his training which got him his promotion as a second lieutenant in the US. Marine Corps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He flew over 350 combat missions and in February of 1979, he was promoted to brigadier general, becoming the FIRST African-American general in the Marine Corps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He was later promoted to major general in May 1983 and in June 1986, he was again promoted making lieutenant general. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At one point, he served as Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat Development in Quantico and then as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lt. Gen. Petersen retired August 1, 1988, and died at his home in Stevensville, Maryland August 25th, 2015 from lung cancer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There is no worse death than having a dream you never go for. ✨
OK! Here we go again #thoughtfulthursday
I was listening to a local radio station the other day, and the last thing i heard before they went to commercial was this.
It made me think about my early years in the beauty business industry. I knew my competitors, and was always watching to see what they were doing. I wanted so much to be like them. It was certainly a full time job trying to keep up with one particular competitor. Eventually, i got worn out and came back to my senses. Lol!
I discovered that comparing myself or my business to their accomplishments was a losing battle. 'Cos i would always be wishing i could accomplish what they had accomplished. I was fighting a battle that had no end! Its been almost 10 years in the beauty industry and we are still going strong.
All am saying is, worry about your craft and don't compare yourself or work to others.
Stay true to yourself, find your own niche
What works for others may not necessarily work for you. We all have different audiences. Your audience is unique to your brand. Identify the things that create a better connection between their needs and what you are offering.
If you genuinely put in the work, 𝙏𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚, your OWN victories will come. You can't win if you keep stressing over what others are doing. And when someone passes you by, don't be intimidated, be inspired! 彡 💋❤

Acts 3:21 says the Heavens hold the Messiah UNTIL the restoration of all things. How long still before beloved Christians believe they are the 10 Tribe House of Israel?

➡Do you know that 'Notzrim' is the modern Hebrew word for CHRISTIANS.
➡Jeremiah (31:6) states EPHRAIM, who is the TEN TRIBE 'HOUSE OF ISRAEL', would be called 'Notzrim' in the future according to prophecy.
➡The root of the Hebrew word Notzrim means 'Watchmen' as penned in this verse.
➡The word translated as 'Watchmen', does NOT apply to the House of Judah, ONLY to Ephraim, who is the 'House of Israel'.
➡Jeremiah was in fact prophesying that the TEN TRIBES in the latter times WOULD BE CHRISTIANS, and as such would be Judah's ALLY, exactly as beloved President Trump is doing now, and not Judah's adversary!
➡This is what this page is all about and how Yeshua is the epicentre of it all.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus...
Comme l'a dit Apolonia... 🎶
🍃 #Manapany
Philippians 3:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
On Monday we focused on Criag Hill's lesson from this verse. Today we wanted to add our own commentary and ideas to the mix.
The first thing Paul states is that he does not consider himself to have attained his goal. Despite how much others might view what he had done as a success, he did not consider his work to be done. The modern sports concept of the same sentiment is to always train as if you are number 2 striving to be number 1. If you feel that you have reached your goal and have no more you can or should do, you become complacent in life.
So instead of allowing ourselves to get too wrapped up in what we have accomplished we should seek out God's vision for our lives. It is always vastly superior to our own.
That doesn't mean you cannot celebrate the goals you reach or enjoy a moment of well deserved rest. However, it does mean it is only a pause to rest. Not a completion of the ultimate goal. Keep pushing the bar higher until God calls you home. Only then may you rest in the knowledge that you have completed the tasks set before you in this life.
The other important piece to this puzzle of success is that Paul is pressing on toward the goal that Christ has set before him. Think of how limited our view of the world and time is compared to God. He is able to see far beyond our earthly lives and into the impact we will have long past when He calls us home. Therefore, we need to strive and reach toward the goals God has put before us. Not the goals we set for ourselves because no matter how big we dream God's plan is even bigger than that.

No caption needed. I hope this makes you think this morning!
Happy word Wednesday lovely! Welcome to week 1. I wanted to keep it simple this week and focus on an ingredient that is indescribably powerful for your skin and body as a whole.
So for this week, our word is Vitamin C.
This vitamin which is an antioxidant is more than just an Orange. It can be found in a variety of fruits & veggies, think broccoli, kiwi, kale, strawberries, yellow bell peppers and pineapple.
This is a must on my beauty product shelf. A product rich in vitamin C can even out skin tone, shield from pollution, help reduce some acne scarring. Typically, a serum is designed to work deep into the skin and vitamin c is one of the few ingredients that actually works when it comes to penetration. Serums have more active ingredients than moisturizers, as they are valuable in their added hydration to the superficial tissue layers on the outermost levels of the skin.
However, In order to get the most out our vitamin C use, here are a few key things to remember.
1. vitamin C should always come in a dark bottle/ container. Look for one with a pump. This can help in air restriction and prolong its longevity.
2. Buy small bottles to use before the product expires. This will save you money!
3. Should never have an odor. If it does this is an indication the product has gone bad.
My current vitamin c obsession is Eminence
Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum.
Here are a few other suggestions to try
True Botanicals, 100% Pure, Mad Hippie
Fun fact, vitamin C is great for women ( & men) of all ages! •
