posted an image of spring skiing expectations and reality, mocking our tendency to show off the best bits. In honour of that post, I skied 30km of trails to find the worst trail sections to share: all three photos are from the lowest trail SilverQueen, between 1550m and 1600m elevation. The ‘dirt’ is actually tree bits. It started snowing right after, ending an eight day drought.

Ski season complete. Had some good times, some less good times and some new experiences all of which I’m grateful for. Thank you to my friends, coaches and competitors for making it fun and thank you to my sponsors for your support and confidence! #winterliveshere
The Whakapapa Ski field on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu is a real winter playground, set to get even better with the completion of a new gondola later this year.
When it's covered in snow, it's easy to forget that you're skiing on an active volcano. It's only once all the snow has gone that you really see the true nature of this incredible mountain with it's ancient lava flows and amazing colours.

Never too cold for a #siberianhusky
. It was -32C today but my hubby and my husky (one of the eight) dragged me outdoors for a walk. And what a beautiful walk it turned out to be!
