Fall is my favorite season. I want to buy everything! This year I shopped smarter. Instead of buying fall decor that I could only use for 2 months out of the year, I bought items that would “use themselves up” throughout the season. I’ve curated a list of sustainable decor that will make your home feel like fall without the clutter and frustration of finding somewhere to put it at the end of the season.
🍁Natural Wreaths - instead of a faux wreath, this year I purchased a natural preserved USA made salal wreath from Trader Joe’s.
🍁Candles - candles are a great way to bring all the scents of fall into your home. This LAFCO Pumpkin Pomander candle is hand poured in the USA and comes in a beautiful hand blown glass container that can be repurposed into a planter.
🍁Fresh cut flowers - flowers can add seasonal color and a touch of elegance to any room in the house.
🍁Pumpkins - it’s not fall without pumpkins! They are a great addition to the front porch, coffee table, or any area of your home that needs a touch of fall.
🍁Candies - Candies are just yummy and a sweet treat for your guests too! I chose these Dove chocolates for their simple and elegant wrapper.
🍁Scented Soaps - Scented soaps are another way to add color to your home and make your hands and dishes smell good too. I purchased Mrs. Meyer’s pumpkin scented soap made in the USA, free of parabens & phthalates, MEA & DEA, and artificial colors.
🍁Paper Goods - although the most “sustainable” choice is using no paper goods at all, we are a napkin and paper towel household. And as much as I love a cute pumpkin cloth hand towel or fall leaf serving platter, it’s only going to be used for a couple of months and I’ll most likely want to replace them next year. Marshalls has a great selection of paper napkins and plates that will spruce up any counter top.
♻️During the season, recycle your paper and plastic goods. Post season, bake with or compost your pumpkins and repurpose your candle container into a planter. I shopped for all of my decor with my new @elliceruiz
