The male of my pair of western diamondbacks, Bullseye... Really difficult not to take his photo when I walk past on account of how photogenic he makes himself. Just how cool they are alone makes keeping venomous snakes worth the risk for me!
A tiny treat, well camouflaged except for the characteristic tail 🖤
How warm was it on the trail today? Warm enough for this guy to show up in mid-January. #trailboss
The Gila Monster is just as Poisonous as The Western Diamondback Rattlesnake.
Most people do Not know this.
Bullseye shed! This is his fresh coat of paint. He has to be one of the nicest looking normal western diamondbacks I have personally seen... and I’ve seen a few. Dunno, I just like his contrast and those crisp diamonds. Wonder how he’s gonna age.
This fellow reared up and was rattling even before I could get the lenscap off. That was two years ago, when we had more rattlers around than I remember in my lifetime. Rainy winters=good vegetation=abundant rabbits and rodents=a booming snake population #rattlesnake #westerndiamondback #snakes #wildlifephotography
