On Tuesday when I got to New Orleans I was starving so I went on a very serious hunt or some food and I found some random Chinese restaurant a few blocks from my hotel and not only did I get some bomb Chinese, but there also happened to be a super cool old school gym right next to it!!! So today I decided to come do a little workout - I love trying out new gyms when I’m in a new city so this was perfect. If I decide to workout when i travel, I usually do a full body workout. This gym had a ton of awesome equipment so this is what I put together!

DB RDL SS DB split squats 3x12
Seated DB shoulder press SS lateral raise 4x12
DB chest fly SS DB chest press 3x10
Straight arm pulldowns SS tricep extension 3x12
Lateral cable raise 3x15
It is freezing here so it feels soooo good to move around and get a good sweat in. The rest of the day will be filled with exploring the city, drinking more coffee and eating way more beignets 😋 if you are ever in New Orleans, downtown fitness center is definitely a gym you should check out!!

Carbs making me fat again 🙄🍝🍚🥔
I’ve heard this so many times it’s crazy. It’s not carbs making you gain weight - eating too much (or not enough!) is what’s making you gain weight!
The truth is, carbohydrates are an important part of any diet, and are a vital energy source for your body. They also help with your concentration, stamina and recovery.
If you’re really concerned about carbs, consider the TYPE of carbohydrate you’re putting in your body. Simple or starchy carbohydrates such as breakfast cereals pasta and starchy white bread and potato raise your blood sugar quickly, and don’t quench your food craving for long. More complex carbs such as whole grain rice, whole wheat pasta or beans are better than simple carbs as they are nutrient dense and digest more slowly leaving you fuller for longer.
Some people do find they feel more bloated after eating carbs and that’s fine - some body types are able to process carbs better than others. If you eat less carbs just make sure you increase your proteins or fats to ensure you’re hitting your overall calorie target.
