For any friends wondering where I have seen I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance yesterday morning. I was in extreme agony with a terrible pain in my stomach. Upon arrival to the hospital we found out that my gallbladder was inflamed and I had a lot of gallstones. I was rushed into emergency surgery and had it all removed. They told me I would have to stay at the hospital for a day or two but I got up walking, drinking and eating that night and because I was doing so well they released me that evening. I was told that I had PCOS along time ago. The doctor last night said that might of been a misdiagnosis because of all the gallstones I had. I thought the pain was from the PCOS. They also said that because I have lost 160lbs in such a short period of time it likely caused this to happen. I am home but had a rough night last night as I came off all the pain medication and opted to not take anymore. Only taking two Tylenol every two hours is causing me some pain but I am doing my best to work through it without the pain meds. They told me two weeks until I can get back to my regular exercise program. I did this workout at the gym today. Totally crushed it! However instead of just doing 15 reps I timed myself for 30seconds, went heavy on my weight, and did as many reps as I could for that duration of time. Then I rested for 30 seconds and did the next set. 👱🏼‍♀️👍🏼 . I really like doing timed sets vs having a prescribed amount of reps per set. I want to concentrate more on the time under tension. I feel so much more free when I concentrate on the movement itself rather than counting numbers. And to be honest, isn’t that what we are for? Moving our bodies, breaking down muscle tissue.... not counting reps✋🏼 . Chase the burn not the number, that’s our goal! 💪🏼👱🏼‍♀️

I've been getting a lot of questions about how I started my journey, and what I did to lose weight successfully. . it took me 9 months to lose 50 lb and let me tell you I had a lot of cheat days. 😅 There were a few weeks for I just said f*** it. . I found these things to be very reliable and helping me to get back on track after failing miserably. . 1) I started an Instagram account sorely dedicated to getting mentally and physically healthy. I gave me accountability, inspiration and a shocking amount of support from the community. it's important to note that I chose to 🚧BLOCK🚧 everyone I knew in real life. This allowed me to be 100% open and honest about my struggles. . 2) I started small. I set small realistic goals so that I wouldn't get overwhelmed. I challenged myself to lose 15 lb and when I did that I challenged myself again to lose another 15. . 3) I downloaded My Fitness Pal and started counting calories. I planned out two or three days worth of healthy meals and stuck to those. It honestly took 90% of the stress off my mind! . 4) Research research research. I completely immersed myself and what I was doing. I watched videos, read articles and listened to other people's stories. This is how I learned about #intermittentfasting and it has completely changed my life! Just knowing how my body works was so incredibly helpful. Inspire yourself daily! . 5) Take measurements and photos! I say this all the freaking time. 😄 you will be shocked at the results you see even if the scale doesn't move. It's a powerful way to stay motivated. . . It's important to be patient with your body. Expect to make mistakes. Learn from them! This journey is about loving your body. Celebrate the way that it was made and appreciate everything it's done for you! MEAL PLANS:⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣ When you purchase a meal plan, you are buying a quick fix ⁣ ⁣ Meal plans will focus on methods, but will not teach you the principle, and more importantly how to implement it⁣ ⁣ It’ll probably work for a period of time, however I’m not really interested in that, and neither should you be. Long term success is what you should be aiming for⁣ ⁣ Obviously⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣ You can become conditioned to thinking whatever method said meal plans uses, be it carb cycling, keto, whatever it is, is the holy grail for weight loss⁣ ⁣ When in reality, it means jack shit⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣ Unless you plan on spending the rest of your life carrying little tupperware sized reminders around with you of just how rigid your life has become, it’s probably not something your going to be sticking with 6 months from now⁣ ⁣ Having to meticulously lay out your life in order to schedule in magical meals you’re supposedly required to eat is alright up to a point. However the novelty soon wears off⁣ ⁣ When your diet becomes your life, we have a problem⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣ I’ve given reference many times to research that indicates rigid dieting can be pretty damaging in terms of relationships with food ⁣ ⁣ This ‘all or nothing’ mindset it creates can cause you to see food as ‘good’ or ‘bad, ‘on plan’ or ‘off plan’ and it’s for this reason you might find yourself binging on these forbidden foods habitually ⁣ You might well find yourself laying on the sofa, bloated, wondering what on earth is wrong with you as human being⁣ ⁣ Learn how to structure your own nutrition, grasp an understanding of your OWN calorie maintenance and you’ll be able to lose weight and keep it off⁣ ⁣ You’ve got this...⁣ ⁣ 🤙

I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and how I came to be a weight loss and nutrition adviser. Although I’d been a vegetarian since my teens I only became vegan in my 30s. This sparked my interest in nutrition, because I wanted to make sure I adopted a healthy vegan diet. _ As a vegetarian I had got stuck in a rut with what I was eating and put on quite a bit of weight when I changed jobs. I was sitting down a lot more and had got into a habit of large cheese baps from the local sandwich shop, often accompanied by a bar of chocolate and a packet of crisps! _ What prompted me into trying to do something about this was a routine appointment at my doctors. I was shocked to be told that I needed to lose some weight. So I tried having much smaller meals or skipping meals, but then would just get hungry and end up eating more! _ The problem was I hadn’t changed what I was eating. I was still eating a lot of processed foods and chocolate on a daily basis. I was letting myself get hungry and then I would overeat. _ It was only once I became vegan and started checking ingredients and reading about vegan nutrition that I really started to change what I ate. I cooked from scratch a lot more and made things like my own snack bars. There was a lot more thought going into what I was eating. _ My experience made me realise that it can be so difficult knowing how to lose weight effectively. _ I have now been a consistent weight for many years, without obsessing over what I am eating and how much. Forecast your future and backward engineer your plan for success. Plan your roadmap to get to the dream you set forward. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- People will try to stop you don't let them get in your way. If people in your life have not evolved in some way shape or form. While there still doing the same stuff over and over again for the last x amount of years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe one should think about cutting ties and calling it quits in that friendship, relationship, or even cut family members off. These leggings were light grey when i walked into class 😂 . Took my very first hot yoga class 🧘‍♀️ in California and oh my gosh it did not disappoint. The temperature was 110 and i sweat out every thing i had in me 😂 . Yoga has all been something that’s hard for me. I’m so use to high intensity workouts, spin, running, heavy lifting so taking a step back and trying to slow things down, relax the mind, breathe & stretch my muscles out is hard! And I still consider myself a newbie and get nervous I’m not going to know the moves (we all still go through feeling uncomfortable!) . But! My body & my mind feel so so so good afterwards. So, I’ve committed to do hot yoga 1x/week....starting small and increasing if necessary. Don’t set yourself up for failure and say “I’m going to do 2 a days 6 days a week at the gym” because you’ll fail at that and then stop all together. Make smart goals. . I encourage all of you to try something out of your comfort zone!
