Hear this stuff so much #Repost from @danny_boy_fitness with @regram.app ... . . 🤷‍♀️ ‘I had 10,000,000 grams of carbs today, but it’s ok because I had them all before 6PM, but I’m still not losing weight?!’ . 🤦‍♂️ ‘You’re not in a calorie deficit.’ . . 🤷‍♀️ ‘I’ve been good all week, so I relaxed at the weekend and didn’t track as strictly. I just can’t lose weight?!’ . 🤦‍♂️ ‘You’re not in a calorie deficit.’ . . 🤷‍♀️ ‘I had 4,000 calories for lunch, but it’s ok I did a REALLY intense session at the gym beforehand. But I still don’t seem to be losing weight?’ . 🤦‍♂️ ‘You’re NOT in a calorie deficit.’ . . 🤷‍♀️ ‘My coach told me I could have a refeed meal, so I scoffed 15 tubs of Ben & Jerry’s. 🚨What makes you gain fat?🚨 .. From my experience of working with clients, the biggest misconception they have is that certain foods will make you gain weight, and certain foods will make you lose weight. .. I teach my clients the importance of calories and how they effect weight, also I educate them that consistency and flexibility is key for sustainable results. .. Let’s use carbohydrates as an example. They often get demonised in the fitness industry, with people removing them completely from the diet, or avoiding them after a certain time, as people believe they are the enemy and will cause the body do ‘gain or store fat. When I’m actual fact, the most important factor which effects weight gain or loss, is calories, NOT carbs. .. Take an average female for example, who needs 2000 calories to maintain her weight. In theory, I could set calories at 1800 and allow her to only eat pizza 🍕. If calories are consistently around 1800, she would lose weight, regardless of the food intake. Not at any point would I recommend this to my clients, I’m just emphasising a point! .. Not every will be easy. There are going to be days where you wish you can throw in the towel or not show up. There are going to be days where you think that work or something else is more important than making time for yourself. There will be days where you feel like all your work is for nothing. However, I’ve learned that #progress takes time, #commitment , #dedication and a strong #mindset . Keep going and pushing through all of these obstacles. #trusttheprocess and know that 1 month, 2 months, 3, 6 And so forth... it will all be worth it. Know that in this moment, you will not be the same person a few months from now. I challenge you to go! Put aside all of the negativity and excuses and just go. You’ll thank yourself later! This week has been tough and just emotionally draining, but I made it through and I made time for me. Working on myself will be A lifelong task. There is always work to be done. As much physically as mentally. My mental health has been better. Not amazing. But better. And I'll take better. A little relief from the crazyness that is an anxiety disorder. I'm working on things. But I'm happy where I'm at. Physically I have work to do. But I've come pretty far and I'm proud of me. 🙂... I'm madly in love with my husband 💕💕 my children are healthy. God is in my life after a long time of me losing my faith. My family is okay. Still fighting cancer. Still dealing with life and life's struggles. But we manage. There is worst out there. And I Have to trust that god has a plan for me. Whatever that is, I am open to it. I have to constantly talk positive and think positive otherwise, anxiety will eat me alive! So one day at a time. One situation at a time. I am able to overcome. How many times do you ask yourself this? . I reckon it’s quite a lot. I know because I used to ask myself the same thing countless times. . I’d search the internet for the next well marketed workout plan that popped up that promised the earth. . “Get shredded in 6 weeks”. “Fat to flat in a month”. . Fuck I even bought a book called The 6 Pack Diet and workout plan! . What did all of this leave me with, abs? . No. . A lighter wallet...that’s it. . I hadn’t grasped the idea that all I needed to do was to do what I enjoyed doing, stick to it consistently whilst eating a bit less and I’ll get there. . Instead I was doing shit I hated just because a book told me I had to do it. . Needless to say it didn’t last long, funny that! . . . When we ask our clients what they like to do as exercise and we say “cool”, they’re a bit taken back by it. . They’re expecting us to prescribe certain things to them, you know, the holy grail for fat loss! . Not here amigo! . Just do what you enjoy and stick to it. . Consistency. . Aaand the rest lol. I’ve been feeling SUPER Unmotivated due to the fact my weight is always between 163-165lbs 😑😑😑😑. Idk what I can do to break this weight plateau. I’ve done research that said maybe my body is so used to eating at such a low caloric amount I need to up my calories for a couple months and then go back down but idk. When I was younger I was 🌱 vegan for 4 years. 👉🏼Trainers with their cookie cutter approach meal plan told me I had to eat meat to see progress or build muscle. It’s pretty obvious to me that they just weren’t educated enough to help me. While I’m I longer vegan, I understand that incorporating plenty of plant based foods and protein makes me look and feel my best 😊 I have plenty of vegetarian and vegan clients 🌱 and I can help them eat towards their goals. I know a lot of PTs still rip on veganism or tell vegan clients they are going to get sick or stay weak if they don’t eat meat and dairy. You can easily hit your protein needs on a veg diet with a little planning 😊 you can get super strong on a good program 💪🏼 And for non vegans 👉🏼 eating a variety of fruits, veggies and plant based foods 🍏🍎🍐🍊🍋🍈🍓🍇🍉🍌🍒🍑🍍🥝🥥🥒🥦🥑🍆🍅🌶🌽🥕🥔🍠 is generally a good idea 💡 regardless of your goal ✅
A reminder that looking at foods as good vs bad and thinking calories don’t matter as long as you “eat healthy” can mess you up. Just because you ate something you didn’t consider as “clean” doesn’t mean you are off track 🍔🍟🍔🍟🍔🍟 it just depends on your goals and your day of eating (not just one meal).

It is not the end all be all; in fact, out of all of the means of tracking weight loss progress, it is the least consistent & least reliable. So much can affect it. . ☑️Progress Pictures! So important..this is the most tangible way to track progress, and the most rewarding. . ☑️Body Measurements: Take measurements every 2-3 weeks, the scale could not be budging but we could be making changes in our body composition. . ☑️Increased Confidence? So underrated! Are you feeling better about yourself? Do you feel more comfortable speaking to others? . ☑️Clothes fitting better? This is one of the best feelings in my experience haha. . ☑️Improved Health? A1C, Decreased Blood Pressure, Decreased cholesterol, Decreased Resting Heart Rate? Breathing better? . ☑️Improved Energy/Mood? We tend to just feel better when we know we are taking action and inching our way to becoming a better version of ourselves! . ☑️The Scale! 💥FAT LOSS GROCERY LIST!!!💥 by - Today I was walking through the grocery store, getting some caffeine, and what I saw literally shocked me. So many people are mindlessly walking through the grocery stores. Mindlessly loading up crap they don’t need. If you’re really serious about fat loss, you should go into the grocery store like it’s a military operation. You should have a plan, know what you need AND don’t waiver from the plan. Of course, getting some foods that you like makes adherence to your diet better. But at least 80% of your cart should consist out of these 4 groups. - 1️⃣ Proteins. 2️⃣ Complex carbs. 3️⃣ Fruits and vegetables. 4️⃣ Healthy fats. - You don’t really need more!!! Seriously, keep things simple. Don’t load up on candy and chocolate. Leg extensions are one of my favorite quad exercises due to all extra amount of muscle fibers you can activate while doing them correctly. Ive seen alot of people swinging the weight using momentum, not only that but using their whole body to try and move the most weight possible... leave that ego shit at home guys/gals. . If your not propertly contracting the muscle you are missing out and wasting your time! . I like to pause atleast for a second on top and squeeze so that I make sure im hitting them the way there supposed to. Controlled negatives and explosive postives. #throwbackthursday to my first ever cut in 2015. . This is one of my favorite pictures of myself throughout my fitness journey! . I was about 180lbs-185lbs in this picture. No other cut I’ve ever done in my life was more easy, and more fun than this one. I know it was because I had never seen myself “lean” before. . Biggest piece I can give to you during your weight loss and fitness journey is to take plenty of pictures! Take them consistently so you can assess your progress over time..it’s really exciting to see what exactly our bodies are capable of. . Process>Prize🦁

Do you ever make plans three weeks in advance and regret your decision the moment that plan comes around? . You berate yourself for making an arrangement when all you want to do is sit at home, with a big tub of ice-cream and interact with no-one but your cat? . This is due to something called ‘psychological distance’. . That being, the distance between concrete and vivid thinking about the present, and the abstract thinking about the future. . This ultimately affects how we feel, plan, evaluate, and make decisions, and explains why people make choices about future events and commitments they often regret. . Simply because the future is so far off, how they will feel about that moment becomes blurred. . The same principle can be applied to combating those nasty food cravings you experience. . If you INCREASE your psychological distance between now and later, you’ll be more likely to stave off those desires for chocolate-filled snacks. . Studies have shown that people who focus on food that is ‘far away’ – focusing on cool, abstract features such as colour and shape, as opposed to concentrating on the instant taste and smell – reported reduced cravings for such food items. . The next time you’re tempted to reach for the biscuit tin then, not only should you think about the object as a blurred item that is ‘far away’, but you should focus on the LONG-TERM consequences of indulging in that cookie. . Increasing your psychological distance between an object will go a long way in helping you reduce your desire for that item at that particular moment in time.
