Wrapped up today with a solid leg workout! Been a long 3 days of work and have a lot to do tonight for spring tryouts but we’re on the home stretch! Fun fact: I’m the senior program director at the @beavertonhoopymca - we run a year round competitive basketball program. One of my favorite parts of my job is when I’m feeling stressed or just want to lift/workout the gym is right out my office door! Major perk to the job.....I’ve been here for 8 years and it took 7 to figure this perk out. Today I can say I’m so grateful for my job, this company, and all aspects of life. It took a lot of soul searching, reading and changing negative thoughts to positive over the last 15 months but I finally am in a place of joy- can’t wait to see where I am in 15 more months! . . This Wednesday workout is for Bicep and Triceps with an added Abdominal finisher. Remember to change it up every couple of weeks by using different equipment. For example, on Bicep Curls one week use Dumbells, the next week use the cable machine with a straight bar or rope, and the next week change it to an easy bar. Change your Abdominal exercise out weekly as well. Use your favorites, just make sure it’s bodyweight only. This workout can also be modified to a strength workout by decreasing reps and increasing weight. Use longer rest periods for strength. For a beginner, do 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps, and make sure you use weights that will allow you to keep proper form and complete the reps. We hope you enjoy this workout. #wednesdayworkout #humpday #latepost Today was a good day guys and an even better workout 🤗🤗🤗 Started my day off with all the proper vitamins, minerals and nutrients to fuel my day the right way. @1stphorm Microfactor makes things very easy for me to give my body all it needs 💯✔💯✔ My workout today was Chest/Back and it was glorious 🤩🤩🤩🤩 I started out with DB Incline Pause reps, as you can see I added a twist to this exercise also. I was looking to hold for 3-5 seconds on each rep. 😤😤😤 I superset that with Seated Cable Rows with constant tension (video 2). So I would do a full rep then a half rep and call that 1 rep. This exercise also 🔥🔥🔥🔥 lights up the forearms. Video 3 is hammer grip cable flys, lying down version is what I prefer. I believe it's better on the shoulders and activates the chest more. 💥💣💥💣 Last video is Incline rope straight arm Pulldowns. I like to do these last 2 exercises towards the end of my workout due to them being Full ROM exercises. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 I got a new flavor post workout stack as well #fitfam my root beer float phormula 1 and ignition is the perfect post workout shake. Tastes like it sounds and it's the absolute best protein shake I have EVER had🤤🤤🤤🤤 You guys have got to try it, it's amazing. Video is ring to cargo net transition, I didn’t get video of the course because I was mentally psyched out. Rank tests are timed courses not revealed until the day of. Psyched myself out way too much on balance stuff, as soon as I saw parts of the course I got too much in my head. As easy as it is for me to say “All or nothing” and attempt personal records in the gym for powerlifting, this has been a humble reminder about how out of my comfort zone I am on things not strength related. Wednesday gym session was all about upper body💪 To warm up, I did 2x12 upright row and alternating bicep curls with resistance band then I also did some dynamic stretches before heading to the weights. When I have a bit more time I also use the treadmill to get my heart rate up and get me to the mood to workout but today I skipped that😳if you don’t like traditional cardio warmup before upper body session, you can still use the rowing machine, do some push-ups or even burpees. It’s nice to mix the different forms of warm up routines once you get bored of treadmill. My upper body exercises were the following today: ◾️4*12 dumbbell shoulder press and ◾️4*12 alternating dumbbell front raise in superset ◾️4*12 lat pulldown and ◾️4*12 cable face pull in superset 🔥finisher: 20-20-10 lateral raise After I finished I thought since it’s already an upper body session, why not add some abs, so I quickly set my timer and do the following exercises: ◾️30 sec crunches ◾️30 sec toe-touch crunches ◾️30 sec alternating knee mountain climbers ◾️30 sec forearm plank I repeated this 3 times but if you are more advanced, do 4-5 sets. Hold a 30 sec break between exercises if you need to stop. I hope you like the exercises, try them and you won’t regret it. Happy Mid-week☺️
Sound on! Sound on! Looking to get started with improving your pull ups? Starting on the smith machine is a safe way to go! These are tough whether or not if you’re a beginner or a pro! - 1️⃣start with your hands in a comfortable position on the smith machine bar. Not too far outside your body and not too narrow. Be wide enough that when you can form close to an “L” like shape when you’re at the top of the exercise. - 2️⃣ make sure you keep your traps down, and your shoulders are relaxed. Make sure your grip is turned so your knuckles are pointed to the sky. - 3️⃣ from there just pull yourself up! Control yourself on the way down! Use your legs absolutely if you have to! Make sure shoulders and traps stay relaxed through the whole motion! - Give it a go for sets of 8-12 reps! Let me know how it goes! Hi! My Name is Nicole and I have an irrational fear of doing barbell squats. 😬😭🏋🏻‍♀️ Squats are my definitely biggest weakness and insecurity in the gym.
