Hey. Hey you. Yeah, you. You’re a miraculous super-cool human who deserves every single little beaming dream you can concoct. And gosh darnit, people like you. You can totally rock that thing you’re trying to figure out. You’re a groovy dancer. You are worthy. HUGS. That fuck-up wasn’t as bad as you think it was. You also aren’t as awkward as you think and you’re totally pulling off that look. Get it, get it. You totally got this.
Magnesium salt and bubbly bath, ahhhhhhhh. It’d been well over a year and oh how I missed it. Well, parts of it. I have a couple #MTHFR
mutations which makes it hard for my body to methylate on it’s own so things like baths and saunas help, but don’t always feel so good as they’re helping to process toxins. But they feel great at the beginning and after! (Do any MTHFRs out there relate?) And something I’m not at all mixed feelings about —- bubbles. Just dee-frickin-lightful. Hope your night’s the same 😘
Happy Talk like a Pirate Day! Here’s 8 Things about Pirates that You Probably didn’t Know: ⚓️
1. Pirates didn’t necessary wear eyepatches to cover up a wounded or missing eye. It is possible that they wore the patch to keep one eye conditioned for seeing in the dark at all times, making it so that if they were working in the light and then had to go below deck for whatever reason, they would still be able to see well with one eye. While this theory can’t be proven historically, Mythbusters have proven it to work, and thus it has a high probability of being true.
2. There really was such a thing as the Pirates Code, which was a contract that was unique to each crew of pirates and that every member had to agree to and sign. It covered everything from the percentage of treasure that would be allotted to each person, depending on their title and rank, to rules and the types of punishments that would be carried out if said rules were broken.
3. Pirates were often defended and protected by townspeople, mostly for their own benefit, as pirates would sell their stolen goods at a reduced price, which meant a bigger profit for the merchants purchasing from them.
4. Pirates that worked in the powder room (the room where all of the gun powder was stored), were required to wear special slippers, making them less likely to produce static sparks, that could cause the powder to explode.
5. A tactic that pirates would sometimes use, was to set an old ship on fire and then very carefully and stealthily, send it into enemy lines, un-manned, and let it explode.
6. It’s possible that pirates wore wigs and fancy hats in order to frighten people, as seeing the expensive headdress on a tanned and obviously hard working individual was an alarming and sure sign of a pirate as they most likely stole that hat and wig off of one of their more well-off victims.
7. The most popular name for a pirate ship was “revenge”. 8. Although we don’t hear about them very often, there were plenty of women pirates. They often hid their identities and dressed like men. The most famous of these were Anne Bonny and Mary Read, who actually ended up on the same ship and became fast friends.

Picture perfect... but what about the frame that holds the picture? Sometimes it’s cracked, discolored or hanging on by a nail.
Maybe our faces are picture perfect, but our souls, with their broken hearts yet strong determination, are the frames holding us together ✨
Backs.... do you pat yours often enough? Or even at all? God reminded me today to stop focusing on everything I want to improve on and start taking time to celebrate the things I ALREADY am doing a good job of. Don’t forget to tell yourself “good job, Self!” and recognize all the things you are rocking at, healthy habits, improving on new skills, using healthy avenues for stress relief... whatever it is, don’t forget to celebrate! Yes, still strive to do better in weak areas but encourage yourself for doing awesome in other areas too ❤️

Okay, so we have made it halfway through the week already! WOOHOO👏🏻 Although tomorrow is only Thursday, we never like to see it as just another Thursday, but more like Friday Jr.! That sounds more appealing right?! 🙌🏻🤗
Should we use "reticule" in a sentence?? How about: She swung her reticule, enjoying the merry clink of coins against the flintlock pistol. What's in your reticule?
"The world we live in spins so quickly. We are always in a rush to get somewhere — chasing the next moment instead of enjoying the one we are in. I know there is a lot going on right now — you feel like there is so much to do, but you have to remember your value isn’t measured by productivity. You don’t always need a plan. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Sometimes you simply need to slow down and breathe. Take time to go outside and feel the sunrays hit your skin. Move with the breeze and get lost in the night sky. Do some soul searching and don’t be afraid to travel some place new. You are a palm tree type of girl — always standing tall and strong, but remember even palm trees have to go with the flow at times. Paradise isn’t a place, it is a state of mind. Continue to stand tall — but don’t forget to enjoy the view."

Eleanor Roosevelt said this when a reporter asked if the Secretary of Labor in the Roosevelt administration felt snubbed by someone who refused to host an event he was chosen to speak at because she felt a political speaker was a bad choice.•
“‘A snub,’ defined the first lady, ‘is the effort of a person who feels superior to make someone else feel inferior. To do so, he has to find someone who can be made to feel inferior.’”•
Please let that sink in. Nobody can make you feel inferior unless you believe they are superior to you and unless you allow yourself to feel inferior. •
Take control of how you see yourself. Understand your true worth comes from God, and nobody can devalue you. Nobody can make you less than what God says you are.•

Being the true Seattleite that I am, the transition to fall is my favorite time of the year. But even though I prefer cooler weather, I am a huge fan of sunshine! ☀️ Can we just hang in this late summer, early fall weather forever? #thepetiteflagshop #wednesdaywords
It’s rush hour! Who else can relate?
I took this photo recently as this machine looked lonely. It inspired me to wrire a little rhyme.... Oh snack machine so bright,
Filled with chocolate delight.
Braving the element's so,
Watching people come and go.
A penny for your thoughts,
Or £1 for liquorice allsorts.
Maltesers, crisps, Haribo or a twix,
Approach this beast now for your sugary kicks.
Feed it now as it has the power,
to put the "rush" back into rush hour😂

Saw this while out in the city this weekend..... Made me think "plant a seed and watch it grow." You never know the impact you may have on others... When my daughter brings me an iced coffee drink for no reason or my son and I conversate in our British voice which he is so good at or the stranger that buys you coffee for no reason.... So here's a challenge. Go out and smile ... Be nice.... Be spontaneous. Plant that seed in someone's heart.
One of the most difficult things about being a creative professional is having an advocate for yourself. Thats why its so important for us to stand up for the creative. However, you, yourself must be your own advocate. Sometimes you need to put yourself first. Have confidence in yourself that you can get the task done. If you’ve designed an amazing cover you have the potential to design an amazing book. Never think of yourself so low that you miss out on opportunities. Sometimes, confidence will take you where skill cannot. #designwise #weareallthegoat

Where will your next journey take you? What pathways will you choose to follow? 🌳 I came upon this gorgeous scene on my walk today for the exercise challenge I am doing, #30daysofmovement
and it took my breath away! It inspired me to think of choices we face in life, the crossroads we come across, and how those choices impact us. I had the chance to meet with and listen to the stories of prisoners serving time for drug offenses recently and they spoke about the decisions they regretted that landed them in a cell. In a way, we all have examples like this (though hopefully not as extreme) regrets and mistakes. What we can do is instead of focusing on those mistakes and looking backwards, turn around, look forwards to the future and decide what we will do to change our lives to manifest our best selves. We can do it, fam! #wednesdaywords

Social media can be the Holy Grail of communication for an introvert. I decide when, where, and how long I interact. Then again, I'm grateful that I went through the transition. I’m a 90s kid. So, I remember how things were before. I can only speculate but if the internet was around – my childhood would have been a tiny bit happier. I’m not getting into bullying or haters because these things never happened to me.
You may wonder why I chose to write about this. Three hundred and fifty-six words sitting in a document from two months ago titled ‘Me and Social Media’ and a conversation on twitter about the continuous algorithm changes - were the catalysts.
I see this Internet thing as an opportunity and a tool. I share my art and writing progress. I am a cheerleader for others. I try to bring positivity to my life by following inspiring individuals. But to navigate this world, you require discipline, clear goals, and a well-thought-out answer to “WHY are you on social media?” Well, the fact that I can build my rep using FREE resources… it's one of my reasons. Plus, I met fantastic people online and then offline. I learn so much by going down the rabbit hole concerning a particular subject. I chat with people from around the world. I… We got a ton of information - and before you say ‘Hmm… What kind of information?’ – that’s why you read multiple articles and keep going until you reach at least page 33 on Google.
Now, if you don't care about it or you consider it a waste of energy, that's fine. This article is from my personal experience. Though I’m positive that this – right this second- it’s only the beginning.
These are gonna be the norm in the next few decades or even years. Whatever the timeline may be, the technology is here – in its infancy, yes – but, IT IS HERE. Listen to Elon Musk on The Joe Rogan Experience. I got goosebumps. Yup, the robots are gonna kill us.
Still, there’s a silver lining. For now - We humans are still here.
So, let's enjoy this era and use it to our advantage.
Thank you for reading! . . .

Little throwback to FIBO in April! Amazing experience, working with such a fab group of people 💪🏼 Omg why am I such a shorty though?! 😩
Came across this pic and it fired me up to get back in the gym and over my illness. I am starting to manage my arthritis a bit better, now that I understand it more, which means hopefully very soon I'll be back in my favourite iron haven 😍 I'm one of those SUPER impatient people, so when I get an injury, or have a bad relapse of Hyperthyroidism or my Graves disease, I just CAN'T WAIT to be better and crushing physique goals.
If it was just Hyperthyroidism and Graves disease, I would prob be in the gym just on a reduced rate now, but because its unfortunately also given me arthritis now, I know I've gotta be WAY more careful with physical exersion this time around.
THIS IS A LITTLE POSITIVITY POST for all you out there who are struggling with something which may impair your physical strength, mental health or general health and lifestyle - YOU CAN and YOU WILL get back on top. You've got this, I've got this, we all got this, no matter what it is you may be struggling with. Big love. ❤️
