INTENSE WATER RETENTION: My cupping practitioner has told me that I retain a LOT of water. That’s how my body works. I have always known this. I don’t sweat. It’s not super cool, but now that I know this and I’ve accepted it, I know and ACCEPT that I can fluctuate anywhere from 5-10 lbs within a couple of days, depending on a bunch of factors. For me, water weight is triggered by: stress, my period/hormones, the heat, bacon (love me some of that). All of which are happening at the moment.

I get so many messages or comments in the gym or in town about how I'm great, non stop and always on the go but the reality is we're all only human and juggling single mom v full time job duties with a very active lifestyle and quite an active job can take its toll. This week I just want to sleep and eat, currently feeling like one of those squishee thingy majigs the kids are obsessed with at the minute!
So instead of trucking on, powering through and essentially abusing my body, I've altered my training a little this week as I needed even skipping an opportunity of morning gym session for a massage instead cos if I don't take care of me nobody else will!!! So important to learn to listen to your body, it does so much for us and while incredible things grow from challenge sometimes we need a little change of pace to give it a chance to rest, recover, repair and recharge. Embracing awarness and acceptance of slowing down and giving a little back to our bodies, focusing on movement, mobility, flexibility and function rather than always full power, heavy, hard sessions can be a super way to stay active while a little low on energy. .
