Comic Review & Recap: Teen Titans # 21 *MAJOR SPOILERS*
Review and Recap by Dani
Teen Titans # 21 was narrated by one of the newest members on the team, Roundhouse. This was a great way to get to know the character as his commentary was refreshing and lighthearted. >> The Teen Titans crew are investigating Gizmo, who’s running illegal weapons thru a toy store. The team incapacitates him with relative ease but run into a glitch when a nuclear bomb activates on his person. Red Arrow and Robin are fine dropping Gizmo off in the middle of the ocean, however Kid Flash feels like that is crossing a line. After Djinn possesses Gizmo’s body to figure out where the bomb is, Roundhouse sacrifices himself to save the city. >>
This team needs training, especially Kid Flash. He was very frustrating throughout this issue. He was argumentative, unprepared and more focused on filming videos for Viewtube. He forgot to hydrate prior to going on the mission and was unable to run the bomb to the ocean after it was detached from Gizmo. His shortfalls led to Roundhouse being thrown into the atmosphere with the bomb. >> On a positive note, there was a real moment of trust between Djinn and Robin in # 21. To possess Gizmo, Djinn had to be commanded by a master. She allowed Robin to take control over her to save the city. This showed a great selflessness on Djinn’s part. >>
This was an improvement from Teen Titans # 20

These are my preferences with the products that Marvel and DC put out.
Comics: Overall I prefer DC comics to Marvels comics. I do like some Marvel comics (the exiles, spiderman, etc.), I just prefer DC Comics. I also think DC comics are just bigger. With Marvel you have Thanos, with DC you have Darkseid. With Marvel you have infinity gauntlet (which is really good in my opinion), but with DC you have Crisis on Infinite Earths!
Films: On the flipside on that, films wise, MCU wins hands down. I like one DC film (wonder woman). The MCU just so good with each film feelimg different from the last. My favourite MCU film is Avengers Infinity War. my favourite character in the MCU is either Steve Rogers or Spiderman.
TV: I like the DC shows, granted they aren't great... but they were partly the reason I got back into comics. My favourite show is the flash. The Marvel shows I think just lack something, not sure what though. I also like the crossover episodes, they are really fun in my opinion.
Animated Shows: Young Justice is one of the best animated shows out there. I'm so happy that it is coming back.
DC would win on that alone, but they also have Batman the animated series,
Teen Titans (that's coming back too!!) and of course Justice League!
