What better way to kick off work pain points, than to discuss traffic on a Monday, when it always seems to be at it's worst? It's bad enough that you spend 8 hours (or more) at work each day, but then you have to lose another 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or even more, out of your day, just to get to and from work. Maybe you combine some exercise into your day, by cycling or running to work, which is great initiative, however most will either drive or use public transport. It's not much fun to confront traffic jams, traffic lights and congestion on a daily basis, just to make a living, even worse on the days you are running late. You basically lose more and more money from your hard earned wage, in paying for petrol & car maintenance just to get to and from work. How is that a positive? Such fun, being stuck behind the wheel of a car, listening to breakfast or afternoon radio, mulling over what another crappy day at work it will be, or has been...NOT! Those who take the public transport option face the same traffic congestion anyway, but instead have the pleasure of stopping every few minutes to pick up more and more passengers, only to feel like a sardine, trying to read their book/newspaper, cramped up next to someone who clearly has no idea what deodorant is and a bunch of school kids giggling and singing along to Baby Shark on their phone. Basically you are paying money to someone else to get you to and from work, with the added bonus of suffering through the journey with others. So, as you battle through the traffic on this fine Monday, consider how much precious time and money you are spending getting to and from work, on a daily basis, all in the aid of earning a wage, barely enough to pay your bills and get food on the table. For me, working from home is a winner every day of the week and I'd love the same for you.
