Why should I put volunteer work on my resume?
Employers want to see that you take time out of your day to help out those less fortunate, are an active member of your community, and that you think of others as being important. The world of work is becoming more technologically advanced with less need for human intervention. They want to know that you can add that hum an aspect with ease. Plus, it makes you feel really good helping others :) Need to add some volunteer work to your resume? There are heaps of charities and community groups screaming out for people. Give it a go - you won’t regret it! #indierecruitment #indie #newcastle #newcastlebusiness #resumewriter #resumetips #volunteer #volunteerwork
Volunteering can help to provide people with ways out of poverty. Volunteering can improve health and wellbeing, volunteering helps reduce loneliness too.
Read up about volunteering and how it transforms life, just like it did for Jeff, 59, in the pic above.

I don’t think I ever got so many strange looks toward my way 😳🤯🤨 when my daughters told them we don’t eat 🍩🍩🍩!
My girls are doing volunteer work at our church because we think it’s important to teach them young. I signed them up for donut duty. But here’s the funny part: we gave up donuts as a family 🤣 Now some of you may think that’s just cruel and unusual punishment or could it be a good test of discipline? 🤷🏽♀️💁🏽♀️
It started out with lil sis making her own promise of never eating another donut again (thanks to my CN fam 😏😜). And she really kept her word. Her strong will and determination inspired us so by staying family-strong, we joined her. Yes, our other kids probably would have never agreed with it otherwise but nonetheless they did.
So when I signed them up for this duty with too much temptation but they did not complain or whine about wanting a single bite ...I’d say I’m super proud of their integrity. While the other parents looked at me like it was child abuse or something. But there’s a motto I heard from one of my health coaches and been living by... instead of having F.O.M.O. (Fear Of Missing Out), consider it a J.O.M.O. (Joy Of Missing Out) 🌟#BOOM
Damn, this shift of perspective really works!!
🚨 EMERGENCY UPDATE!!!!!!! 🚨 We recently got word that the shelter may be closing due to land development in MAY. If the animals that we have now do not find homes, they will be brought to the government-run shelter where they risk euthanasia if there is anything wrong with them health-wise. This means that we have TWO MONTHS to find these guys a home. There are over 35 dogs and 2 anti social cats to evacuate. Please read our blog and see how you can get involved! Link in profile! PS: this is Alvin! He’s an elderly guy who sleeps outside every night in the cold. Please give him a home! *CORRECTION: we have been told that euthanasia is technically illegal in Catalunya. We are certain there are loopholes and that the government won’t be afraid to use them on the dogs. We continue our mission of evacuating all animals.
A cold, very cold Midnight Run in New York City serving the community! This group did an amazing job helping, and handing out clothes & food to the people of NYC. From magically losing our group, to j-walking, and playing the points game (Shane & Joey, you know the game), I was impressed with all our volunteer drivers and all our helpers! Thank you for a successful Midnight Run, and I hope to see you all again for the next run! #midnightrun #isyourrefridgeratorrunning #idontdoyoga #newyorkcity #volunteerwork
Ready to tackle the year!
Did you know that I am an active volunteer at the London Civic Gardens for 6 years? I love this place and all the hard work we do to promote gardening in our community. 🌷
We have 3 main yearly events, well attended and much loved by the community. 🌷
Today we had our super fun Children's event where the kids got to make their own themed container garden. 🌷
We also have our exciting Greenhouse Tour and Open House in April often bringing in crowds of 500 people. 🌷
In September we have our large scale plant sale where you will get the absolute best deals in town. 🌷
In addition we grow 10, 000 plants from seed to donate to other non profits in the community. These plants include native trees and perennials, herbs, vegetables, annuals and perrenenials🌷
For more info and lots of fun pics (I am the photographer for our group) check out FRIENDS OF THE LONDON CIVIC GARDEN COMPLEX on Facebook. 🌷

Working with @rualtbreaks
was truly a pleasure! Together, we made 50 care packages for the homeless and distributed them the following day. It was both an interactive and learning experience for Rutgers students to learn more about volunteer work and leadership.

to homeless people living outside in the rain and cold in downtown Fort Worth. Wish we’d had 100 more to give.”
With all of our awesome volunteers it feels like Random Acts Of Kindness Day every day! Here's to all of YOU for having a #HeartToServe
Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day!😁🎉 Today is a day to celebrate and encourage random acts of kindness. To honor it, here is our suggested list of 10 Random Acts of Kindness; pick 1 or do them all! And tag someone below who's kind ❤️: 10. Pay for the person’s coffee ahead of you at the coffee shop ☕ - how psyched would you be to get a free late?
9. Let someone in when you’re driving - easy to do and so appreciated🚗
8. Help an elderly person with their groceries or cross the street🌽
7. Give a (genuine) compliment! 💗
6. Make somebody laugh - or laugh at somebody’s joke 😆
5. Hold the door - only takes a moment and makes others feel appreciated🚪
4. Be a friendly neighbor - a simple ‘Good morning!’ brightens people’s days immensely!👋 3. Leave a kind note - on someone’s car, door or desk… saying something positive and encouraging 💌
2. Buy a meal for a homeless person 🍽️ 1. Sign yourself (or a friend) up at GivingWay - Get yourself or a loved one started on a journey to help others and have an incredible experience 💪❣️ Have you performed any Random Acts of Kindness yet today? What’s the coolest random act you’ve performed or received?

The Knife Edge of Capitol Peak - the one time I climbed to the top of Capitol I crossed the knife edge by straddling it and scooting along it. I was terrified by the huge exposure on both sides. My climbing partner Robert Baribeau helped me reach the summit.
These aerial images of the Elk Mountain Range surrounding Aspen Colorado were created in 1981-1982 to aid Mountain Rescue-Aspen by helping identify the locations of accidents and to assist in planning rescues of people who experience the dark side of the mountains. This small selection of the larger body of work mask the danger and disaster lurking in the mountains and emphasize the romantic beauty.
Photographed from a 1948 Piper Super Cub piloted by Don Hose. An opened window allowed photographing without the interference of glass or plastic which might reduce sharpness.
15 images were printed 14”x11” for a limited edition portfolio and were exhibited at the Aspen Art Museum in the summer of 1982. That edition sold out immediately. In 2008 nine more images were selected and added to the original fifteen for the 20”x16” edition for a total of 24 images. Three prints of each image plus a few artist’s proofs were produced and are titled, signed numbered and dated on the verso. The 2008 prints of The Elk Range Portfolio were individually exposed and developed on Oriental silver-gelatin paper. photographed in 1981-1982 printed in 2008-2009
