Also called the eighth continent mainly because several species that can only be found here and no where else on our planet are inhabitated here.
Like this brown Lemur which was curious about our apperance in his home, the jungle.
They spend most of their time in the higher parts of the trees and have a very special diet of fruits, leaves, flowers and tree bark. One reason why they do not survive long times when held in captivity. The only way for them to last is to live in their natural habitat.
As they are already endagered it is even more important to protect their environment for the survival of the lemur species in the future.
I share some more insights and impressions soon from this wonderful island.

The moments when we remember that we’re just tiny specks of matter hurtling through space are few and far between. Seeing Earth’s shadow last night was one of them. It was EPIC ! 🌘
I hardly ever get to climb in the winter and I am missing it SO MUCH. I’m also missing seeing this cutie in the rocks 😘
Some things just never change.
