The Black Queen live at Brick by Brick 2/22/19
Gearing up for a busy weekend with Uriah Heep. Sometimes it's hard to believe I'm an adult, then all the responsibilities remind me of such
Now Spinning. Ramones - Ramones (1976) vinyl lp.
The Ramones may or may not have invented punk rock, but they were inarguably the most important band in punk history, creating the stylistic prototype that would be followed by countless bands who emerged in their wake.
Named the "Greatest Punk Album Of All Time" by Rolling Stone, and certainly one of the most important and influential albums of all time, the 29-minute masterpiece helped launch the punk rock scenes in both America and Britain. Bringing a bubblegum sensibility to the fast-and-hard mentality, their primal sound is considered a blueprint for all things resembling snotty, catchy, ear-bleeding punk rock.
“Dropkick Murphys - Live At Fenway Park” is a live album by the Irish punk band Dropkick Murphys. I love the setlist on this LP, and I love how this band is still around doing their thing all these years later. I last saw them (twice) with Rancid in 2017 and am sure I will see them again sometime soon.

I usually take a chance on these in the hope of finding some interesting music... well when they’re $1. The lyrical content isn’t really what I’m after. It’s the production, music, and melodies I’m interested in. This comp from the 1st Presbyterian Church in Yakima, WA has some pretty solid tracks. There are some great folk melodies and even a little fuzz guitar hidden in the grooves here.

This is a fantastic new wave/synth album from 1986. Appears to be quite scarce and a private press from the looks of it. The sole release on Bellingham’s now defunct Binary Records (cat# AS 101). Picked up this lovely copy for $1 over the weekend. I had given up on HPB but I’ve snagged some great ones from their $1 section over the past couple weeks.
Last night was a nail-biting type of night.
I'm so glad I got over loving you...right?
Definitely a King Gizzard kind of day for some dancing
Rajput & The Sepoy Mutiny - Flower Power Sitar (1968). Sole release from this band, but the whole package smacks of corporate suits trying to cash-in on the hippie movement. Instrumental throughout, the sitar plays like a vocalist through a lot of this album, basically a rock backing band with sitar throughout. The cover art, band name, song titles like Do It With Flowers and Lullaby For Flower Children just sounds contrived. However, this somewhat rare album is a statement of its time, and is an enjoyable listen for fans of sitar psych. Audio is from opening song Flower Power. The album was released on Design Records in the USA and Canada only, a subsidiary of Pickwick known for these quick-buck flavour-of-the-month Records like Sounds Like Woodstock! and Polka Canadian Style!, and this was one of their forays into the psychedelic 1960s. Not the first or last time corporate America would try to tap the hippie wallets, one of the best examples are the very cool late 1960s 7-Up print ads! #psychedelicsnacks

Who else is praying for a new Tame Impala record this year? 🙏💜 [📸: @vinylwoman
The first album I bought on cassette back in 1993. I picked up this picture disc a few years back, it looks great but it sounds appalling! Virgin records really went to town on reducing the sound quality on this! #meatloaf #batoutofhell2 #virginrecords #jimsteinman
