Latest eBay book delivery: Some Poul Anderson with Michael Whelan covers. I must admit I bought these solely on the strength of the cover art an typography (judging the books by their covers!), so I hope they are actually good too... 🙈😆 Anyone read any of them? Or anything else by Poul Anderson? He’s one of Gary Gygax’s favorite authors, and his Three Hearts and Three Lions is apparently one of the big influences behind Dungeons & Dragons, so I have high hopes they will be enjoyable, but I might be setting myself up for disappointment. (You should always expect to be underwhelmed and let down, and you’ll be that much more likely to be positively surprised! That’s ny motto anyway. Should have that translated to latin and put on my tombstone as an epitaph. 😆)

Latest eBay find to arrive: Michael Moorcock’s Elric of Melniboné stories with the classic Michael Whelan covers. I never read these growing up, but the covers of several of them were licensed and re-used for the box and books of Swedish RPG Drakar och Demoner, so seeing them just fills me with all kinds of nostalgic warmth and fuzzyness! I have read a bunch of the stories, but I still have more than half of them left un-read, so I’m looking forward to getting into them! Have you read them? What did you think?
