Nice way to end the week, the photos have arrived!
I love looking at photos. Not in a narcasistc way, I like to use them to trigger what was going through my mind at that point and kind of relive experience
Honestly, now the time has passed this is probably the most fun and rewarding thing I've done. If you genuinely love the free feeling from running, and are in doubts about going the 26.2 miles, just do it. If you run a bit, and maybe done 1 or 2 half marathons, you're totally ready. Just stick to a training plan, trust the process, and enjoy the magic when it all comes together on the day
Have a great weekend all
Peace ✌️ #run #berlinmarathon #berlin42
I generally go into races with a negative mindset that I don’t want to do it, that I’m tired or in pain and will probably just give up along the way. This is NOT good or productive ❌
Thankfully, even though my head seems to be against me, my feet keep taking me over the finish line 🏃🏼♀️
Even if your head is saying no, find something in you that tells you to go! You may hate the thought of it in the start and maybe even all the way through but once you finish and prove yourself wrong, I guarantee you’ll be impressed with yourself.
It doesn’t matter how fast you do it or what position you come, what’s important is to refuse to give in to that negative mental chatter and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
The more you challenge your negative thoughts, the easier it’ll become and the less negative you’ll eventually be 💃🏼🙌🏼 Keep practising challenging negativity until it becomes an instinctive habit ☺️💚
Medals know how to make me feel good 😝
Today was the final Canaccord Cup race of 2018 so we finished it off with an awards presentation and celebratory drinks 🏃🏼♀️🥂🙌🏼
Each summer Canaccord Genuity holds a corporate cup race series in Jersey for teams and individuals from local corporations to run in one 5km race every month for 6 months 🏃🏼♀️🇯🇪
I participated in four of the six races and I’ve come away really happy to have been involved and proud at how far I’ve come.
Last year, I ran 5km without stopping for the first time in my life and nowadays I tend to come in at around 30-31 minutes but in each of these races I’ve stunned myself, achieving 29m 53s, 28m 54s, 27m 10s and finally 28m 06s!
I’ve achieved some HUGE PBs out of nowhere and am super impressed with myself.
It’s amazing to think that a year ago I couldn’t endure 5km without switching between walking and running and now I tend to run 5km at least once a week (I even hit the 10km mark last month but I’ll tell you about that another time!) 🙌🏼
These races have taught me that with will power and dedication we can achieve anything.
Autumnal vibes on today’s long run around Penshaw! Made friends with some highland cows and nearly got blown away by these crazy winds 🌬 found some new tracks in the woods that I’ll have to explore further next time! 🍁🌿🍂🌲🏃♀️ #kieldermarathon #training #veganrunnersuk #plantpowered
just arrived back from visiting a few places around Europe and one of my highlights was early morning beach runs, in the most perfect temperature along the beaches of Vilamoura. The soft sand was very difficult to drive off of, but the pace and consistency to do that for extended periods of time always left me exhausted - exactly how I want to feel at the end of any work out.
Running is incredibly fulfilling to me, and long may it continue 🍃
This weekend I took part in my first ever race - Stockport 10k - with around 230 Vegan Runners 💚 I got a PB of 1:04:38 (my goal was under 1:10). Three months ago I only ran at the occasional Parkrun, a year ago I had never run further than 1500m (at school)! Results-wise Vegan Runners smashed it: fastest man, fastest woman, and first 4 fastest teams ✌️ Bonus points if you can spot me in both photos 🔍 #veganrunnersuk #stockport10k
Just the 200 members of @veganrunnersuk
at the Stockport 10K on Sunday - this included Pikachu, 2 bananas and a giant chilli! If you’re a vegan and a runner, you better get joining!
You get to meet a bunch of cool people and go running, it’s a win win 🌱🏃♂️❤️
I was part of the #Stockport10k #veganrunnersuk
takeover today! Just brilliant! Smashed it with VRs taking the 1st place male, female and team 'Hard as Kales' . Fantastic day. So pleased to be a part of this amazing gang.
BUZZING from the Stockport 10K today! We had 230 @veganrunnersuk
runners turn up and takeover the race!
I was very proud to come home in 7th place in 37:05 on what was a twisty, hilly and windy course. I am even more proud to be a member of this great running club.
We had first place (@alextheveganrunner
) and last place (Pikachu) and watch this space for a video from the day that @ian.kitt
and I have made. Well he is making it, I just did some showing off.
If you’d told me two years ago I’d drive 500 miles to run around some parks in Stockport in a pair of tiny shorts, I would have told you to get fucked. Great weekend and roll on Brighton for the next VR meet up in November 🌱🏃♂️👟👏
So today Tom and I completed the Stockport 10k, also participating in the big vegan runners takeover, and it was lovely being surrounded by so many vegans. With it being my first 10k I was aiming for sub 60, somehow managed to whack out a chip time of 56.04?! Tom came 12th with a time of 37.54 and was also in the winning team. We celebrated in the usual tradition by eating lots of food, and chose @grubmcr
for this! Had wonderful post run fuel from @thegtpoutine
, both sooooo good! 😍
This is a picture of my route this morning as my gps failing to track my distance this morning #
7.2 miles complete in 1hr 20 pleased with that 5mins quicker than last time
4 weeks to go till Exeter half marathon #veganrunnersuk #exeterhalfmarathon2018 #bodymagic
I can’t tell you how happy this picture makes me. I’m about to start the Stockport 10k and there are over 200 other vegan runners here. We make up about a quarter of all runners in the race!
