Friendnof mind recently got the Barbeque sandwich from @elpalote.vegan.
I'm usually extremely picky about barbeque sauces, but this was one tangy, sweet, with a little hint of spice. It was super good. Probably would've been better if the red onion was on there, but they opted no onion. Cest la vie. It wasn't my sandwich, I just took a bite. Lol

jackfruit ribs. For the longest time, I had been looking for a vegan alternative to one of my favorite childhood foods, ribs. I don’t know why it took me so long to try these out, but I was downtown for a workshop about running for local office and I stopped by South Town Juice to pick this up. Hot Italian Beyond Sausage on the grill with veggie skewers ———————————————————————— Veggie skewers recipe: 🍽Ingredients- onions, peppers, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, organic EVOO, garlic powder, salt & pepper 🍡Directions- Cut veggies to equal cubes (about 1 cubic inch), toss in EVOO and seasoning, arrange on soaked bamboo skewers, grill on medium heat, flip occasionally, grill until dark brown grill marks appear on both sides
Leftovers put to good use!! I used leftovers from the last couple of meals to make these BBQ Jackfruit Puff Pastries - BBQ Jackfruit, Red Onion, Kale, Pineapple in a Puff Pastry Cup topped with Roasted Garlic Aioli 🍍 🥬

It’s funny how some people still perceive vegan diets as ‘fancy’, ‘trendy’, ‘expensive’, ‘exotic’ or ‘only for the middle class’. The truth is a vegan diet can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be, but not only that - how many animal products are often associated with wealth, trends or status?? When people dine on oysters, mussels, prawns and lobster; when people pay through the nose for a piece of prime steak, or go out of their way to find expensive fish such as sea bass and bluefin tuna. The reality is that eating certain animal products has come to be seen as an entitled ‘luxury’ or ‘treat’ in the majority of the population’s eyes. They forget that their favourite ‘foods’ had a very real face, life and personality. 👎🏻🐟 Not to mention that it is KILLING our planet!! 🌎
The answer? We need to drop our prejudice against plant foods. If you consider yourself a ‘foodie’ and love trying new and exciting foods, dive into the vast array of thousands of incredible plant foods out there.
