Of all the cars from England then I imagine that the Bristol Car is one of the more continuous.
Disliked by many (indeed most...) and extensively ignored as eccentric, indulgent, ugly, over-priced dinosaurs which were simply assembled from assorted parts bins. Be mindful of those type of dismissive comments... owners of Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls Royce.
Especially those cars when the company was under the stewardship of Anthony Crook... a fascinating former RAF pilot and racing car driver of South Mancunian stock.
Bristol remains one showroom car company that trades from the opulence of Kensington High Street.
But of all the models then the 412 must be the most controversial?
Whilst I would like to acquire a Bristol Blenheim before I finally depart to the great highway of the sky, then even I would believe that a 412 would be an indulgence too far, as there are so many cars that simply do all those things better.
That said these examples (in my mind...) almost challenge that stance, but alas I don’t have the level of funds to indulge my entire and expansive love of the humble motorcar 😉
