Walked between giant granite walls on our way to Paradise Valley.
A lake near Woods Lake on Sawmill Pass Trail. We stayed here on our 4th night on the trail, and finally caught up on our intended trail route schedule. Off-trail planning was a little too ambitious since we were off by a lake or mountain pass or two every night.
We are relocating to Salt Lake City next month 🎉 Two goodbye California road trips coming up : northern coast and Yosemite to Lone Pine.
Disrupted circadian rhythms.
Everything stops making sense once you get above the treeline.
Sunrise at Moraine with the peaks playing peekaboo. Moments later and the whole valley was shrouded in fog...
Keep that fire lit inside your soul. Go after what you want in life and don’t let anyone dim your light!
Never seen roads quite like the ones up here in Canada. Endless views for hours. Going to be hard to drive on anything else when I leave this place..
No matter how many times I visit this spot, it’s continues to keep me speechless. There’s so much to see in this world, but some of the best places are always closest to home.
Its good to be back in the mountains again with the promise of fall.
I'm currently in Colorado for a wedding so haven't gotten around to doing much exploring. Afterwards though, its on to mountains, hikes and sunsets and sunrises for the next week!

The Garden Wall was shrouded in clouds all day long today. This is Bishops Cap and Pollock Mountain from Mount Gould.
I love looking up to the sky. 🌝 ✨ ☁️ How about you?

Never give up hope on your dreams. You never know how close you are to reaching them. ✨
Effortlessly getting lost in the layers of rock and the tell tail signs of how immense the glaciers once were..
After traversing down some steep terrane we were greeted with a hidden waterfall💦🚿
Yep, it’s a rock! But it’s a lucky rock, it gets to hang out in a slot canyon all day.
Let me use this post to chat about the people I take on these guided adventures. To start off, every week is a new set of complete strangers. And to backpacking and camping, my guests may be just as unfamiliar. Some are doing this trip to specifically get out of their comfort zone and push themselves, try something new. Some are just looking for an escape of some sorts. Some just simply want to put their phone down for a few days and check out. So with that being said, the group dynamic dramatically fluctuates each week. I get this unique opportunity to observe how complete strangers interact in the discomfort of the wilderness. Some open up and really connect, other shut down and embrace the solitude gifted by the backcountry. Other groups click and mesh within the first 2 minutes, this was one of those groups. Truly a pleasure to be apart of and help facilitate.
So about that sunset in San Francisco last week..
No, this is not Mt. Rainier. It's is out of frame and covered in a thick layer of clouds so I was bummed out. Stuck around and the light got good for the rest of the range.
Couple things I learned about my first visit: summer starts really late here. Wait a couple weeks and the wild flowers will be in full bloom, Optimal milky way alignment over the mountain is also later in the month. Nevertheless, had a great time and was a good learning experience. 👍
here again to wrap up my takeover! Reaching the top of Half Dome is always such a treat. Stoke is way high, smiles are from ear to ear, and the occasional tears start rolling. The views from the summit are nothing short of breathtaking. You get to look down upon the Yosemite Valley and ponder just how many other visitors are looking back up at you. The High Sierra off to the East also display quite the performance of light and color in the morning, which makes waking up at 4:00 AM SO worth it. It’s easy to understand the hype behind this hike when you get views and pictures like these. Check out our story to see the behind the scenes of our epic day running around on the Half Dome cables and to scope more great trip images like this one. Until next time y’all! This Lucas, signing out! ✌️
