Pretty happy I was able to bench without any pain thanks to this bar. Haven’t benched in forever and everything felt pretty heavy. But anyways, here’s a quick 225 just to see where my strength is at. ••• Hope I bench normally again soon!

If you stress about your weight on the scale, you’re not the only one. What you don’t know is that your weight is not a telltale sign of your progress. . . . Progress pictures and circumference measurements are a great way to show how your body is changing over the weeks. Oftentimes, the weight on the scale will remain the same (or fluctuate) and clients will get frustrated with themselves. . . . It takes pulling out progress pictures, such as these, to show how irrelevant (at times) the scale can be.
The one thing you need to understand about weight loss: Calories in vs calories out. . . . Calories in is simple; anything you eat or drink. . . . Calories out is also known as your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure); all the energy you burn through your day. Calories burned from being alive, exercise, fidgeting, and daily activities like cooking or walking. . . . The concept of calories in vs calories out is that to lose weight your caloric intake needs to be LESS than that of calories out. . . . For example, if you eat 2,500 calories, but the calories that you expend everyday is only 2,000; then you’re adding an extra 500 calories of fat to your body everyday. . . . This can quickly add up to 1 pound every week or so. . . . If you want to lose weight, you can either reduce your caloric intake (calories in) to below 2,000 and/or you can add in more exercise (calories out).
Worked up to 136.5KGS/300LBS for a single and then paused triples up to 116KGS/255LBS. A week off from lifting and I am definitely feel it. And it’s been months since I’ve done 8s😓 so here is 245x8 which is baby weight but I’ve got new shoes to break in so🤷🏼‍♀️. In order to have the most mechanically sound squat, you need stability both at the knees AND feet. . What this means is that your knees should track over your toes regardless of stance if you want to produce an efficient amount of force in the most effective/ safest manner possible. . That being said, a cause of why your squat might be unstable and you're potentially being cut off your power/ strength is due "knee valgus" which can be caused by flat feet/ foot pronation resulting in internal rotation of the knee/ hip such as in the picture above and this can cause knee issues over time. . Other factors that can attribute to "Knee Valgus" that are fixable [ not genetic structure ] can be weak abductors relative to adductors and if that's the case you'll have strengthened them. . I know some of you will say "well, so and so knees buckle and they're a top level lifter". My thing with "knee valgus" is, was it controlled or was it NOT controlled? In the sense of active structures stabilizing the knee it or just passive structures working which can lead to an injury. . The humbling part about it is that you only need half the weight to completely destroy your quads. It's easy to give up, its easy to push problems to the way side and let your dreams fade away especially when all the odds are on the table and you cant seem to make even a decent hand. God knows it's been a crazy year thus far, But for the fighters, the ones that will do anything to get to where they want to be in this life is something very unique. We are a legit breed of our own, and we cant even comprehend the thought of true failure, and complacency. True failure isnt when you try at something and you come up short..true failure is when you try at something, you come up short and you tell yourself to not fight for it. I've had my fair share of adversaries and I will continue to have them for the rest of my life. Sure there have been times where that doubt tried to creep in the back door and rob me of my dreams, my quest, my dignity, and my respect. But I'm a fighter, I will forever be a fighter. My dreams are present in my mind. They are cemented in my heart. I know I can and will achieve them in the right time and place. For me to be self aware of the changes good and bad of myself and life has also been something I keep close. BAR PLACEMENT TIP FOR BENCH PRESS‼️ Please follow and like Follow 👉@all_fitness_ability Follow📸@all_fitness_ability Credit;@fitness_iq Ideally, you want to place the bar across your PROXIMAL TRANSVERSE CREASES such as the picture on the top left and bottom right with the checks✅ this could help minimize or prevent future wrist pain and eliminate some of the power you’re being cut from 🔪 . The reason why thumbless grip folks find their bench to be stronger at times is due to the bar being closer to the heel of the palm✋🏽. Gripping the bar lower⬇️ on your palm instead of higher⬆️ towards the fingers will minimize your wrists from rolling backward. . Rolled back wrists could effect leverages/ power transfer. Try to have the bar rest closer to the wrist so it's neutral↕️. This way the bar is directly above the elbow.( picture on bottom left) allowing more force transfer. . Rolled back wrist increases the leverages we must overcome to complete the lift due to the moment arm increase between the bar and wrist. This typically directly translate to a decrease👇🏽🙁 in efficiency🔋 and thus less weight will be lifted. . Therefore, In order to minimize any moment force on the wrist joint, the bar must be placed as close as possible to your wrist (lower palm). So the bar can be directly over it. Allowing a vertical relation between the wrist and elbow. . I hope this is helpful for plenty of you who have a hard time with the bench press.
