9 years ago today, it was love at first sight when I saw my sweet Lily Katherine dancing on the screen for the first time. She was squirming all over the place! Flip, flip, flop. Laughing, I joked, "if this is any indication of what's to come, I'm going to have my hands full!" She was so tiny, yet already so developed and full of life. I was witnessing the miracle of life. I'll never forget that hanging on the wall across from me during the ultrasound, there was a painting of a lily, as I saw my own Lily, whose name was already hers. Seeing this was like a sweet gift from the Lord, who knew her gender, name, and purpose already. Later that day, we went shopping and I found a snow globe ornament with Lily's name on it at J.C.Penney (swipe to see photo). Her name was imprinted on my heart, before a doctor ever confirmed her gender. 💕👼🏻 #LilyKatherineAllenBall #LoveAtFirstSight #MyLittleFlower

I’m just now realizing the gravity of fertility and it’s enormous presence in my life. As a younger woman it’s something I took for granted, never thought too much about and assumed was there if/when I wanted it and dormant when I didn’t.
Fertility is life giving and but also stealing. Childbirth and complications following it, is still one of the leading causes of death in young women worldwide. Without first world healthcare, I’d have likely died 3x over from these very complications at this point.
I’ve seen the tremendous joy and beauty it’s brought to my life by the 3 healthy children I have. I have experienced the heartache and grief of an unplanned pregnancy that brought shame and isolation. I’ve experienced the roller coaster of one that brought shock and anxiety, then joy and excitement then deep loss and sadness.
Fertility if different for women than men. It’s ever present and can greatly bless or curse our lives. If we forget for a moment that it’s there, each month there is a reminder that fertility is part of our lives. Even after menopause or hysterectomy it’s STILL there. Ive watched my own mother battle chronic pain and endless health problems that all stem from reproductive complications.
This is my flashback Friday pic and my morning musings. We all have different journeys and likely as a woman you have experienced different seasons in your fertility. Joy, pregnancy, infertility, birth control, shame, loss, miscarriage, happiness... all seasons in a woman’s fertility journey. .

STAND UP & BE COUNTED //
We need thousands of men, women and children to join us on Wednesday at the Toowoomba Rally for Life, a unique and powerful opportunity to send a clear and emphatic message to the State Government that women deserve better than unrestricted abortion.
The Darling Downs is the birthplace and engine room of Emily’s Voice, and this is our moment in time to be counted by meeting outside the council where the Premier is working this week.
Signing petitions, letter writing, praying and visiting politicians are important, but there is also enormous power in showing up in force and having a visible presence that cannot be ignored by the Government, the media, and the tens of thousands of people visiting the city for the Carnival of Flowers.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stop appalling laws allowing abortion on-demand to 22 weeks and then to term with the approval of a second doctor who doesn’t even have to meet the woman.
Two Emily’s Voice ambassadors, Madeleine Wiedemann and Stacey Mc Bride will address the gathering, along with Dr Jovina James.
Please be there. Wear white and arrive at 11.30am.
Signs will be provided.
The rally will end at 1pm, and be followed by a free barbecue outside Walton Stores, 476/482 Ruthven Street.
A smaller group of women and children will be at the council from 8.30am on Monday when the Premier and her Cabinet arrive in town.
The rally is a joint initiate of Emily’s Voice, Australian Christian Lobby, Cherish Life Queensland, Australian Family Association and Abortion Rethink.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

❓ Do I get to choose what type of adoption plan I have for my baby?
❓What options do I have? ❓What is a closed, semi-open or open adoption? ❓Why do birth parents choose open adoption?
If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, these may be just a few questions you are asking yourself as you explore your options in creating an adoption plan. We have worked with birth mothers for over 70 years, and have gained a lot of experience in this area. Our pregnancy counselors will guide you through these important decisions. Most importantly we honor that it is YOUR choice, and will ensure your adoption plan reflect your decisions.
One option many birth parents choose IS an open adoption plan. Open adoption allows birth mothers and birth fathers to be involved with all aspects of the adoption process, including selecting, meeting, and requesting regular communication with the adoptive parents. Birth parents often feel relief knowing they were able to choose a good home for their child to grow up in. When you work with a Barker pregnancy counselor they will help you explore what kind of contact you would like. That might include exchanging pictures and letters or a visit from time to time. 📞 Call 888-731-660 or 📲 text 240-600-1106 to speak to one of our pregnancy counselors today to learn more about your options! *All calls & counseling are free & confidential*

"It is critical that free speech is upheld on campus and that groups like LifeChoice are able to continue spreading their pro-life message with truth and compassion," said Director of LifeChoice Australia Rebecca Gosper.

Sometimes it is easy to focus on the chaos here, our eyes magnifying everything right in front of us while they blur anything on the other side. In S3E2 Lisa Lloyd, my dear friend, shares the story of her unplanned pregnancy and shows us how chaos amidst deliverance never has the last word. •
I love stories like this. I have been accused of being a chirpy optimist. But I insist that I am an optimist by FAITH. Life will certainly take unexpected turns… but I believe in resurrection endings. •

Obvious Child (2014) Gillian Robespierre
“She didn’t actually tell me ’til years later. So this was all under the carpet for a long time. We were just kind of relaxing, and we were sort of talking about deep, dark stuff, and she just sort of went into it.
She was probably 19, just living. I think it was a one-night stand thing. She never talked to the guy ever again. [She] got pregnant, and had to take care of it herself. It was awful. A lot of the main theme was just aloneness, having to do everything by herself, clinic by herself. She had to have surgery, it was the whole bit. So, yeah. Not good. Really, really dark stuff.
It’s awful to know that someone you love felt that alone. The loneliness is more the theme that hurts the most because we’re all connected.”
This announcement has been a long time in coming, but I’m so excited that on this day—Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement—we get to share with the world the special project our team has been working on for months (even years!). Unplanned is the true story of Abby Johnson, a woman on a quest to help women. Pain masked a terrible secret she was hiding; a secret that helped propel her forward in decisions that would alter her life and the lives of thousands. Abby’s story is powerful and life-changing. It was our honor to be the on-set pastors/chaplains, getting to know phenomenal people in our cast, crew and special guests. This movie will be a must-see! Coming to you in theaters March 22nd. Save the Date! #unplannedfilm #unplannedmovie #abbyjohnson #unplannedpregnancy #unplanned #togetherforlife

SPOILER ALERT: Amazing OPEN adoption story ahead, keep reading and swipe left!!!...I got to meet with this sweet birth mama last week so she could tell me all about the 2nd birthday party SHE got to throw for her birth son at HER home recently! Birth mama, birth grandparents, birth siblings, and adoptive family celebrated with pizza, cupcakes, and the park! This is what it looks like when LOVE trumps fear, insecurity, “contact agreements.” This big, messy, beautiful, imperfect family doesn’t let anything get in the way of what they are building....Open adoption is a lifelong journey. Maybe you’re ready for the next step? Maybe you’re ready to step outside the box? The possibilities are endless when LOVE leads the way!
