Throwback Thursday with the 'ol VW Cabriolet. To think this project all started when I borrowed this car from my sister to go get parts for my '69 Camaro and got laughed at from a couple Honda fan boys. After out driving them through some windy roads in a slightly slower car, I wanted more. Back then I was a muscle car fan but really had a blast burning through turns in that oversized go cart. I later got it from her and it got crazy. Dropped a 2.0li bottom end with a 1.8li Eurospec Cylinder Head, low temp thermostat, Neuspeed wires, Neuspeed Clutch, 9A close ratio transmisson, ABD short shifter, custom made header attached to a 2.5" custom full exhaust. Went with Eibach suspension and Everything MOMO... MOMO Arrow wheels, Steering wheel, Pedals, etc. I lightened it up a few hundred pounds by removing everything not needed. Who needs AC in a convertible anyway? Ditched the power steering for manual too. It turned out to be a cool little beast. Surprised the masses when it took 2nd Place in the Pure Street Class at Mooresville Dragstrip. When I wasn't on the Dragstrip or hitting the curves out in the sticks, I was terrorizing the streets of Charlotte. Many tuners got their feelings hurt with that little car.
