Tip of the week/Can you see the problem in this pic?
Last Saturday I was running hot (for me) laps, with Krino, Jason, and Gina on my ass. I glanced back halfway through big Monza and swear it looked like the three of em were all packed within 10ft behind me. Something felt off so I slowed down, got out of their way, and did a cool down lap where this pic was taken (Cool down laps always have wheelies). Five minutes later the bike was in the pits with a completely flat rear tire. Not all riders, myself included, can diagnose what is wrong with a bike while on it. I actually had suspected something was off in the front end. If I had ignored that feeling it would have possibly caused me, (or worse) my friends, injury.
Tip of the week: Listen to your bike. If you suspect ANYTHING is off, get off the bike and check it out. Loose bolts, axles, chain, worn pads, cooked brakes, levers hitting guards, and low tire pressures are common culprits,
Worst case is that you unnecessarily take a little break. Best case is you prevent a catastrophe. Side benefit: it'll give you an excuse for getting beat by your employees and friends :) #wheeliegoodadvice
