Exercise USED to be another stress factor in my life. Am I going to make it to my class on time? Will dad be home on time to watch the kids. Dang, he's not here or wants to go for a run so I need to search YouTube....
With all the busyness, chaos and unknowns that life can throw at you it brings me peace to know that with a click of a button I can get my workout DONE!
My gym travels with me, my trainers travel with me, I can do whatever I feel like doing on any given day at any given time. All for less than 50p a day. I'm making sure I stay healthy for my family and for me 👨👩👦👦 .

That is a word that gets tossed around a lot.
I think we all go through some pretty severe adversities in our life, but it is how we deal with those situations that makes all the difference.
I have known my fair share of physical adversities in my short 35 years of life. At a young age, growing up with severe scoliosis in my spine, I was often in pain. I however did not let that stop me from doing gymnastics, cheerleading and running. There were countless chiropractic visits and my mom often tailored my clothes to fit my crooked body, but I survived.
Having scoliosis is actually what initially made me fall in love with fitness and bodybuilding, especially having a fantastic personal trainer who specialized in corrective exercises. I would have never thought that in my 30’s, I could be living the most pain-free lifestyle that I had in decades, simply by working out and eating right!
I never thought something that once brought me so much pain & hardship could actually be a motivating factor for me to work harder and share with others the importance of fitness and nutrition.
Remarkably, the next time you are in the middle of a tribulation, it could actually turn out to be a huge blessing in disguise later on.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK: You can eat gluten free, grain free, AND enjoy noodles! This super tasty Shrimp Scampi is made with spaghetti squash, a veggie spaghetti that has the likeness of angel hair pasta, less carbs, and more potassium and protein!

Shrimp Scampi with Squash noodles
RECIPE SERVES 2
10 oz Wild Argentina Frozen Shrimp
1 Lemon Juice and Zest
2 Cloves Fresh Garlic Sliced
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil to Saute Shrimp
1 Tbsp chives Fresh, Chopped
1 Tbsp Parsley Fresh, Chopped
1⁄2 Medium Size Spaghetti Squash
1⁄3 Bag Frozen Spinach
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 Tbsp Onion Granules
1 Tbsp Granulated Garlic
Roast spaghetti squash, flesh side up, at 350 for 20-30 minutes until tender enough to scoop out "noodles". Saute spinach with coconut oil, granulated garlic and onion, salt and italian seasoning. Toss the spinach with the cooked spaghetti squash and adjust seasoning. For shrimp: Pat shrimp dry and saute in a very hot pan with coconut oil. Season with salt and then when the shrimp are almost cooked, add in the garlic, lemon juice and lemon zest. Once they are cooked, toss the shrimp with the fresh herbs and adjust the seasoning. Package with squash on the bottom and shrimp on top. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Everything in moderation is my philosophy when it comes to what I consume (food,drink, watch tv, listen too, read, shop). There was a time in my life when I would have beat myself up over eating cake or to much frosting. I would have gone out and ran 15 miles instead of 5 miles because I ate something “bad”. The younger me had struggles with food and body image. It is a topic I haven’t shared with a lot people, but I want to be as “real” on social media as possible. I am not traveling to Disney every month or making elaborate cakes everyday, life isn’t rose gold all of the time. 🌹I want to encourage, inspire, walk beside and share with anyone who may want help with those fun things like Disney travel, simple gift giving ideas, cooking recipes, AND REAL LIFE stuff! Real life stuff like sharing about my past struggles and how I overcame them because it may help someone else. I have a blog post that I am not quite ready to hit publish...it is hard subject to open up about...but I feel necessary. Because I have learned so much through my journey and one thing I know is that there is a generation of girls who have grown up and are now mommas (just like me) raising sons and daughters and if we haven’t dealt with our body image, food issues, self love then we are raising the next generation to struggle just as we have. This struggle effects so much more than your jean size...it destroys your happiness, your joy, your relationship with self and others. Destroy is a strong word, I know and I didn’t intend to keep typing away...so maybe I will hit publish one day soon on this topic...because we all deserve to love our selves and our body no matter our size or what we eat. The (processed) food industry is too big and too influential. They spend big bucks advertising on the tv, radio and magazines. You aren't going to hear/see/read this in the news but what we are eating is killing us. Our food is literally one of the most dangerous things we do to ourselves on a daily basis. Eat real food. #healthyisthenewblack
finds this morning! I usually get farm fresh eggs from my parents, but I ran out and wanted eggs for breakfast. I have been curious about cacao nibs for awhile. That garlic seasoning salt is no joke! I realized that I like almond butter more than peanut butter in my oatmeal 😵. And I nearly jumped for joy when I found the pickles.
Starting today I am working to avoid/eliminate highly processed and high sugar foods. My body has felt terrible for a few weeks. I gave my self a break from working out every day to just a couple times a week. What I didn’t change (for the better anyway) was my diet. I was lazy about it, pure and simple. Yesterday I had Chinese takeout, Little Caesar’s, and Taco Bell 🤦♀️
But every day is a new day. Today I’m working toward my goal of just feeling better. I don’t want to keep antacids around, I don’t want to feel gross, I don’t want to keep putting garbage in my body.
My body has yet to fail me. It’s definitely frustrated me more times than I can count, but I now see that I’m in charge of it and it reacts to how I treat it.
