DND. Can't come to the phone right now, cause duh! busy laying eggs. Call me when you got someone to hatch em shells.
Sei un incontro mancato, di quelli che si continua a sperare.
We stayed in a sweet little homestay in the Tan An district, far enough away from the river to avoid flooding, but close enough to cycle everywhere on single gear bicycles. We loved wandering the markets, taking breaks to drink chocolatey coffee, or cocktails during the 5 hour long happy hours. Travelling with just hand luggage and a tight budget, we refrained from buying too many things, but lots of people go there specifically to have clothes and suits hand tailored or jewellery custom made. One offer we couldn’t refuse was a ridiculously cheap and skillful haircut which had us both lying on reclining chairs having our heads massaged to pumping EDM music - unfortunately we haven’t managed to find such a level of service back in the UK. When the sun was shining, we cycled a few flat miles to An Bang beach where we swam in the crashing waves and drank endless mango smoothies. Once suitably sandy, we returned back to the city which was even more alive at night, beautiful lanterns illuminating the streets, and scattered in the river like light up lily pads #hoianancienttown
A couple weeks back, I was having breakfast at a cafe on the streets of Havana when a mystery woman walked past and left a piece of paper on the table. My friends and I were a bit skeptical about touching it at first thinking it was an intrusive flyer or something along those line. Eventually though, I turned it over to have a look and it was me! This lady had drawn me from a distance and left it for me on the table. I did manage to catch up with her to thank her and visited her art gallery afterwards. How cool was that? 😄

I went scuba diving for the first time. And it wasn’t so glamorous lol. I’ll keep it real. 😝
Frankly, it was a last minute decision. We had just checked into the Airbnb when two other guests/roommates showed up. They were two girls from Colorado. We chatted a bit before they mentioned they’d be getting ready soon for scuba diving and that the owner of the Airbnb organizes it. I thought about it and thought I’d join the gals on this experience. .
The owner told us to get ready in 30 minutes. So we did. And off we went. They gave us a mini lesson and gave us all the safety rules and tips. We did a dry-run in shallow water first; trying out the whole breathing through a tank system, adjusting to the feeling and etc. We each had a professional diver assigned to us. Alhamdulillah...
It was such an amazing experience! It was so fun. We saw coral and so many tropical fish. We even saw a sea turtle munching on coral. Subhan Allah. Ah-may-ziiiing! .
Then towards the end of it, I felt this pressure on my forehead. And minutes later I wasn’t feeling well. My head started pounding and felt sick. I signaled to the diver accompanying me that I wanted to surface. The waves were pounding at us as I was telling him I needed to go back to shore and that I think I was having a migraine. (I always throw up when I have a migraine🤮).
He told me the only way we would go back to shore would be to dive back down (🙄). As we descended we spotted the gals and the rest of the gang. We caught up and continued the dive. I tried to concentrate and ignore the nauseous feeling. I did so much istighfar 😩 .
At last, we were back in shallow water. Within a minute of resurfacing I couldn’t hold it any longer and BAM! I threw up 😭😭😂. Ohhhh my God. Nobody saw though! 😝 And the rest is history lol.
I still enjoyed the experience though!😂♥️🐠

Sleeping With The Stars To Come
Moroccan rooftop in Midelt, closer to the Sahara than to the ocean.
You may be sitted on concrete, the moment is of pure softness.
“The Palm Island” of the Philippines.
Between Yurt and Me
Reaching Song Kol Lake, Kyrgyzstan, is already pleasant. (Song Kol Lake is one of the poster child of the Reflections Chapter of our adventure)
But when it happens and you realize you'll be among the first ones to sleep there since the previous summer, it gets even better : you then have the chance to help your hosts build their yurts, in which they'll spend the upcoming summer with their cattles and families.
That day, we were five tourists attending, being offered a hot tea as we arrived. So the people sat down and drank.
I didn't. I had a house to build. With a little help from my friends.
