Toda a região é incrível.
🇬🇧 Cappadocia was one of the highlights of our trip. After an 11 hour bus ride between Istanbul and Goreme, we finally arrived at our last destination. We stayed there for 3 days, but the desire was to extend it. The whole area is amazing. With underground cities, castles and even churches still with it's visible frescoes.
This was our last trip before we returned to Portugal. It is not yet certain what comes in the future, but we are sure more trips around the world will happen.

Day 205: Back in Amritsar and reunited with my bike! We've been sorting a few practicalities today, but found time in the evening to go check out the Durgiana Temple. Luck was on our side, as there was some sort of festival going on in the Temple! We enjoyed the spectacle for a while before heading back home. Tomorrow we're going for the Golden Temple and the Wagha Border.
We made it over 20,000 DKK (3000$) today on the fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who has supported the project in any way!

On Foot or by Bike?
Whenever we travel we always try several ways of transport. That allows you to really suck up the atmosphere of the place you're visiting. .
Bali is the perfect place for this. Rent a scooter, go on foot or as we did rent a bicycle. Leave all tourists at the resorts or downtown, head for the ricefields, mingle with the locals and enjoy.
What do you prefer?
Why we ride?
A zine by Allysse Riordan
Why would anyone travel by bicycle when we have planes, trains, and cars? It’s a question to which I’ve never had a fully articulated answer. It just makes sense. But this is not satisfactory to baffled friends, family, and co-workers. I’ve tried many times to explain in more details. How can I bottle up all of what it means in one coherent sentence? I can’t. Instead, I chose to ask other cycle tourists why they do it. The Cycle Touring Festival was the evident place for it. The zine is a compilation of their answers and memories.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:
I started cycling touring I think because I really love travelling to different places all over the world. But you know, riding buses and staying in hostels got quite boring and all felt the same. So I think getting on a bike seemed like a great way to still be able to travel but also do be doing something that kinda makes you feel good and makes you feel like you’re out doing something sort of different than everyone else.
Hmm… a story? There’s lots of them. Okay, I remember cycling out of Delhi for the first time and feeling really overwhelmed with the idea of going out in all that traffic and trying to find my way to the ride road. And I think I even stayed three extra days ‘cause I just couldn’t face trying to cycle through Delhi. And when I finally got on my bike and I’m going through the traffic, about ten minutes in I kinda looked around and realised everyone was on a bike. There was just all these bikes around me, and like mopeds and scooters, and everyone was just sort of moving together in this one clump. And then it just suddenly felt kinda really fun and comfortable. And someone gave me a coffee and it was a good start to leaving Delhi.

The conditions got pretty horrible after Lanzhou.
My feet have never been colder, they felt like blocks of ice for days on end. Managed to find cheap hotels for the worst nights.
I hitched a lift on one pass, tires sliding all over the place, I could have persevered, but at that moment I wanted to get out the cold. I wanted to cycle every possible metre of the trip, I've had to think of a whole host of reasons to justify it to myself.
No one would take me, so I asked the police to help out. Turned into a propaganda photoshoot. Them pouring water into my mug and taking photos, even when there was no water in the kettle, things like that. Eventually, they got me a ride!

"We made it to Bali! We enjoy cycling here so much. The traffic is slow, the weather is sweet, and the views are breathtaking.
Tomorrow we‘ll make our way to Ubud to meet our wonderful friends @sallyandmarius

17 Temmuz 2018

We started on the Great Ocean Road today, weaving in and out of the tourist to see the sights along the way. These included our personal favourite London Bridge, as well as the very famous 12 Apostles. Unfortunately only 7 of them are still standing. #sightseeingonabike
🚴♂️ Day 201: Dacaotan to Guantingzhen🇨🇳 71km 🚴♂️: One of my favourite things about cycling is being able to just stop whenever you feel like it, and because you’re going so slow you notice so much more than when travelling by car or bus. Not exactly sure what this is but it was definitely worth a detour down a side road for a closer look!
Final few days in India inching ever closer to the Burmese border. By this point we’re probably 63% dust, 21% bike grease, 11% sweat and 5% tears... so you can see we’ve not been crying that much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The rest is by road :) beautiful roads leads to beautiful destination :p #travelbybike
It goes without saying that the best form of transport on a cycle tour is your bicycle. Uninterrupted peddling is the goal. Although it doesn’t always work out like that. After travelling with our bikes on various forms of other transport — planes, trains, ferries, coaches, local buses, big cars, small cars, camper vans with trailers — we can confidently say that a pickup truck is definitely the second best. No paperwork. No damage. No thieving. No worry. No problem. #HitchBike #UKtoNZ
Pedaled from Baltimore to DC. There were a lot of boats.
There is almost always a new scenery you never know when you ride your bike (slow). The way the sunlight touches the mountains? The time when the flowers are at bloom? If there is one thing I love about biking — it always gives me something beautiful to look forward to.
