Running Warm Up
Sure, it’s easy lace up your shoes and hit the ground running. But taking 5 minutes to fire up your core and hip stabilizers, mobilize your ankles and juice up your nervous system will reduce risk of injury and optimize your performance. Do there 5 drills before your next run.
Side Plank w/ Abduction (Video 1)
- On the lifting leg point your toe down and heel up as you lift and lower. - Control the motion in both directions
- Modify by dropping the bottom knee as needed (end of video)
Calf stretch, ankle roll, dorsi flexion driver (Video 2)
- Hold a calf stretch for 30s
- Roll that same ankle, 5 big circles ea direction. Gently stretching the front and side of your ankle. - Keeping your foot (heel) firmly planted on the floor, drive your knee towards the wall. Push over big toe, middle toes, little toe. 10-12 reps per foot.
IT band stretch and floss (Video 3)
- Keeping your hips square and your bottom foot pointing straight ahead, reach you left hand to the outside of your right foot. Hold for 30 sec. - Then do 10 flossing motions, moving smoothly in and out of the stretch position. - You should feel this down the side of your leg (ITB) more so than your hamstrings.
Single leg balance w/ resisted hip flexion (Video 4)
- Come to a balance position on one foot. Lift the opposite knee above your hip. Push down on your knee with the opposite hand, don’t let your knee drop below your hip. - Do 2, 10s holds on each side.
A skips (Video 5)
- Do 4 sets of 10 sec on / 10 sec off in place or about 30 sec if moving forward.

Long Post: So I started this journey in Jan and on 1/22 I took @lovesquad @allymisslove
Ally’s Tabata class and booked marked it. Today was my last day of Power Zone Training and I needed to take a 20 min HILT class, sooooo since I had on my Love shirt I looked for Ally.
I didn’t know when I took the class but I saw that I had it saved so I hit start. I had my screen filtered so I could see where I was when I took the class last and I was amazed. Even though I’m stronger it was still a hard class to finish. I bested my last time by 59 points and I also earned a PR by 10 points. Ally was the 1st instructor to mention going back and retaking a class. To see my smile right now Priceless. I’ve grown so much in this journey.
Part 2. I’m a Goal Setter and in July I said that I wanted to ride 100 str8 days. Instead of putting that huge goal in front of me I started with 31 str8 days which was the month of July. Then I started another 31 str8 days which completed Aug. Now I’m coming to my finish I’m on day 75 of 100 str8 days. I will complete Sept and just 9 days in Oct.
Become your own inspiration, set small goals that will push you forward to your ultimate goal. Go beyond your own expectations and you will succeed.

a rider saw one of my videos and suggested that I put my bike on I wood surface. I went to the home improvement store and gave the the measurements of my mate, cost 25$s. Last night was my first time on the bike since I’ve leveled it and it Works. Now when I do my jumps the bike isn’t jumping with me. I didn’t realize how much extra I was working. I forgot how hard it is to try something new 😱 I went to the @onepeloton
Tread studio for the first time yesterday. I picked a running class with @robinnyc
so it wouldn’t feel 100% new, but even so, on my way there I started to panic. I kept thinking “I’m not a runner. What if I have to walk the whole time? What if I don’t make it to the end? What if I trip and fly off the treadmill??” 😩 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I realized I’ve been in such a regular routine that I haven’t TRULY tried something new in a long time. I remember feeling that same panic a few years ago when @christina.crisostomo
and I tried SoulCycle—long before I started going to group classes. I was nervous for days beforehand and read dozens of articles about what to expect, how to prepare, what to eat that day. Of course I survived in the end, but it was a struggle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the beginning of the year I set a goal to move my body in different ways, but I didn’t make good on it until recently. Yesterday was a good reminder that I have survived everything new I’ve ever tried—even if it was hard. Sometimes shaking things up can be a good thing. As they say, what doesn’t challenge you doesn’t change you.
