Leg day today and we started with leg extensions and a DEADSTOP technique on the last set to failure.. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ WHAT IS THE DEAD-STOP TECHNIQUE ? - it's a 2 second pause at the bottom of the lift, taking all tension off the muscle for every rep! WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? - The two second pause at the bottom of the movement and removing all tension removes the stretch reflex from the lift removing all assistance from the hardest part of the lift and placing more stress upon the designated muscle! I remember when I first started working out I could barely lift 135 for four reps, one year later I’m able to do 315 for 6!! Trying to bring that weight up! My current pr is 395, coming for that 405 🙌 The next video is me like 6 months into working out, I was trying to do 275 but couldn’t hit it.
Sí, el camino no es fácil. Al principio Muy pocos van a creer en ti, se burlarán, te criticarán, estarás solo. No entenderán tus ganas de superarte día con día, mucho menos cuando acostumbrabas beber alcohol en exceso y fumar regularmente. Y con ello, venía a mi mente una palabra con la que me describieron durante años: “antideportista”. Jamás fui bueno en ningún deporte, intenté jugar fútbol pero nunca aprendí a patear un balón, practiqué voleibol y jamás pude rematar, después intenté jugar basquetbol y recuerdo que me dijeron: “no atrapas una gripa ni en invierno” (refiriéndose a que no atrapaba ningún balón). A los 16 años fue la primera vez que entré a un gimnasio, (probablemente pesaba 55kg). Y a su vez, probé el cigarro y el alcohol. Por lo que sólo le estaba haciendo daño a mi cuerpo de una manera sutil. Pues, mi metabolismo jamás me permitió aumentar de peso. Y ahí también las burlas se hicieron presentes. Uno llega al gimnasio y ve a alguien levantando mucho peso, (novato y sin experiencia), uno quiere hacer lo mismo. O quiere pasarse horas en el gimnasio (si es que le agarras el gusto). Pero todo esto es parte del aprendizaje, con el tiempo te das cuenta que los vicios y el ejercicio no se llevan, que entrenar más, no siempre es mejor. Que la comida y el descanso, representan el 70% del éxito. Que no entiendan el por qué haces 5 comidas al día, (saludables). Que si pasas dos horas sin alimento te sientes mal (esto depende del tipo de ejercicio y el metabolismo que uno lleve, este es mi caso). Esto lo aprendí hace 5 meses, hace 5 meses que decidí darle otro rumbo a mi vida. Apenas hace 3 meses comencé a notar cambios, no sólo físicos, sino sociales y emocionales. Me cansé del “no puedes”. Literalmente cambia tu vida, tus amistades, todos aquellos que te rodean comienzan a motivarte. This curl variation is great because it adds a different type of stimulus to your training, emphasizing time under tension, which works to overload the muscle. Plus, it’s tough.
