We’re at PCT Days in Cascade Locks this weekend!
The population of this little town practically tripled as they welcome hikers and their folk.
We’ve enjoyed reuniting with hikers we haven’t seen for months!
There’s lots of gear vendors here too showing off their new products and sharing knowledge. Thanks especially to the #Leki
rep, who fixed both my poles and Ben’s with new tips.
We’ll be heading back to Timberline Lodge tomorrow where we’ll pick back up on the trail and continue north to here:) and further. .

I can finally reveal the project I’ve been working on over the last 4 months as I handed it to Gary earlier tonight. I may have left him a little speechless 😉
I may never get a finish line hug but this hug made up for it. Roxy is in all our hearts and will always be a big part of Squamish50 💜
Also a big thank you to Brian at @brianmccurdyphotography
for capturing Roxy in the original photo I used for the stitching.
Day 15 | 27 miles | 4453’ elevation gain
First and only campfire on trail. I broke down and cried after I accidentally tripped over a rock or root for the at least the fifteenth time. My big toe is double the size it should be and desperately needs to be spliced open. I’m so grateful for these boys for still having my back after a day like today. Town awaits us tomorrow. #coloradotrail #thruhike #trailfamily
Good luck to everyone racing at @Squamish50
this weekend! We will see you at the Quest Aid Station!
HELLLOOOOOOOOO, OREGON!!! That’s a wrap on California, folks!! What a ride, filled with more love, lessons, and laughter than I could have ever anticipated. It’s so strange to imagine that this marks the beginning of the home stretch, really, but we’re all doing our best to cross the “going home bridge” when we come to it. Here’s to whatever the next couple states have in store! Pumped for what’s around the corner!! Cheers, Looney Toons! Love ya, ya beautiful weirdos!! // #pct2018 #pct #thruhike #norcal #oregon #nobo #crushingit #trailfamily #canadabound
Don't be scared! He's friendly; we promise 😉
Day 7: This was the day where I could really pile on the mileage so that my last day didn't have to be so bad. I ended up hiking from Catlin Bay to the farther Duck Hole lean-to for a total of 23 miles. Had some good chats at several lean-tos with fellow thru-hikers which made the long day go by fairly fast. Got to see the Noah John Rondeau hermitage, some really cool bridges, and slept in a brand new lean-to all to myself with a view of the Santanoni Range. Overall, an amazing day in the woods, and even better knowing my last day was only going to be a 12 mile day!
Today is bittersweet as we’ve reached Cascade Locks and it is here that we depart from our beloved Cheesesteak. 😭😭 I refused to even look at the Bridge of the Gods— the state border marker between OR and WA; I don’t want to see it until we are back here after completing the 281 mile section we bypassed due to wildfire smoke. Headed back to NorCal tomorrow to hike from Parks Creek TH to Crater Lake— then pop up north again and I will hike across the Bridge of the Gods and north to Canada!

was quite the experience fire time I got paid to pet a dog, now for 2 days of sleep.
Last time we ran, it was a 80km relay. Tonight, it was 8km together (roughly- only one of us had a watch they used properly and it wasn’t me!) hitting the trails is the best way to catch up when they’re what brought us together in the first place 😊Just missing our 5th member!
Sending strength and positive vibes to Trail Michelle! Last week she endured a terrible car accident that resulted in some serious injuries. Let’s all keep her spirits up while she is in recovery! Trail fam is FAMILY on and off the trail. @michemoto83
Spent the morning hiking with the kid. Finding trail treasures. Jumping into the lake. Splashing. Eating outside in the fresh air. Enjoying this moment. Good stuff.
Day 5 and 6 on the NPT: Had an easy hiking day from Carry lean-to to Lake Durant Campground where I spent the night with a bunch of great friends. Was able to take a hot shower, meet a couple who gave me trail mix and a turkey sandwich, and sit by the fire drying out my shoes and feet. The next day was the "dreaded" high point of the trail. It went fast for me because I had service and talked to my dad on the phone while hiking up it! He informed me that the @redsox
had just walloped the Yanks 17-5. Now that I was in a good mood I trudged on to one of the Kelly Point lean-tos. Here I stayed the night next to a tent set up in the lean-to. This is against the law, and more forest rangers are definitely needed to enforce rules such as this one. #addnysrangers
Days 114 - 117: Meeting Traci and Mark has been an absolute highlight of the trail for me.
After picking us up on the side of the road they opened their home to us for four days. We got to uncover the magic of Costco, mountain bike, eat fabulous home cooked meals, recover from injuries, hide out from the smoke, and have a genuinely great time in the company of great people.
A big thank you to Traci and Mark for picking up us dirty, smelly hikers on the side of the road, and becoming people we hope to share many memories with in the future ❤️ #trailangels #trailfamily #pct #pacificcresttrail
John Muir Trail Day 5: 15 miles of descending into Devils Postpile National Monument and Reds Meadow outside of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Lakes galore with perfect reflections kept us entertained, as did the rain. At Reds we took the bus to Mammoth for a zero day so i could see the doctor for a UTI. Annie cried leaving Caitlin and Connor behind but Cucumber came to stay in Mammoth with us to see the doctor as well. #johnmuirtrail #notsoeasy #lakesfordays #trailfamily #tweenhiker #momdaughteradventure #toughdays #happydays
When you misheard what your friends said 😝
He made it to the top, for the first time, last night! My 7 year-old adventure buddy pushes his own limits more every day, and I couldn’t be more proud of the person he is.

What an awesome day! 2nd year at Elephant Rock, beat last years time by 20 minutes, and came in 3rd place overall. Whaaaaat?! Thanks to a great race director @wanderleyreis1
and all the amazing volunteers. So fun seeing friends and making new ones. #trailfamily #Ultrarunner
