Lost my motivation for life recently so not posted much on here 🌚 had a decent leg session today so seemed appropriate to take a selfie for the gram
Glutes and hamstrings done today!! Loving the extra strength in offseason. Focusing on lifting as heavy as possible and building the weight up each week, particularly on the compound movements. Workout went as follows - all sets warm up then 4 x 15,12,10,8 reps progressive overload unless specified otherwise:
Stiff legged dead’s (video)
Reverse squat machine (video)
Good mornings - 4 x 20,15,12,12 (video)
Lying leg curls - 3 x 12 last set dropset
Adductors superset long lunges - 3 x 12 of each
Finish with cable rope pull through 3 x 15 reps

Following on from that, this morning I had a complete and utter meltdown in the gym this morning to @vwphysique
I stared at this photo for ages and the videos that we took and really started to beat myself up about different areas that I feel are under developed.
As usual Vaughan kept it real and reminded me I’m making up these worries in my own head, it doesent matter what everyone else looks like come show time, as long as I put my heart and soul into t I can guarantee I’m gonna look the best I’ve ever looked 🤩
It ain’t easy being in this head of mine but the mental struggles are something I’m working on along with the physical struggle of WALKING IN THESE DAMN HEELS 🤣🤣

Ps you don’t always have to have an aesthetic goal. In fact, it’s really nice to NOT have one. But I’ve had a year of finding ‘balance’, not working to extremes & generally eating and training how I want and not how I ‘have’ to to achieve X, Y, Z. Having periods of #aesthetic
goals and periods of #health
goals works best for me 😚

Post Show Update 💕
I've been pretty rubbish on here lately due to being super busy. But by some miracle, in the 6 weeks post show, I've managed to easily maintain just 7lbs above my stage weight! I pretty much gained that in the first two weeks, but nothing since. I never manage to do that usually, so I'm really pleased. I've been eating whatever I like, but my breakfast is still oats and my evening meals through the week are usually really good. So I'd say I'm maintaining my weight by eating around 2,000-2,500 kcals daily. I've not even been consistent with my training, so I'm pretty surprised really! My goal is to maintain a healthy weight that I feel good at. Not having to 'bulk' for another show is actually pretty liberating. I doubt I'll be saying this after Christmas though, but atleast it will give me a goal for January 😂🍫🍾🧀

to like last week 😂 feel like I’m holding decent condition for this stage in the off season! (Not today though had my cheat meal last night so looking a bit watery than that but il loose that today through sweat etc) I’m lighter but harder looking than this point last off season which is a good sign! My goals this off season were to grow my legs and bum and maintain my V taper and slightly grow my side deltoids while maintaining a condition I’m comfortable with and getting cals high for prep. Think for the most part I have achieved this! Despite the odd wee set back here and there ive still progressed and that’s what it’s all about progressing no matter what’s thrown at you stick to your goals and see them through it’s character building

from the very first time I stepped on stage 2015 to the last show of the season this year I’ve made very noticeable changes I’m happy with the progress but I wanna be better and do better! now it’s time to get in a good off season to come back stronger in 2020 I will beat this physique I will bring my best I will be strong AF training partners acquire within 💪🏼👊🏼
❗️Sometimes we’ve just gotta get stuck in and do the work when we’re tired
If you need to get it done, it’s gotta get done, right?
Particularly when those goals of yours revolve around competing in some way.
Obvs we’re smart when it comes to long term planning and managing fatigue - not just burying ourselves for the sake of burying ourselves on a daily basis - and we deal with the person as they are on the day.
Aaaand if the issue is a little more than ‘just tiredness’ then we’ll look at potentially dropping intensity and/or volume... maybe not train at all if its a full on illness vibe.
But we try to not let feeling tired get in our way too often. And the work that gets done gets done well. (Note I’ve said ‘too often’...we’re humans at the end of the day! And we’re talking more about those with competitions/high expectations in mind)
Being honest, digging deep, pushing appropriately and making the most of each opportunity to progress along the way.
